• Working with a focus on the Onboard Computing Systems Domain, this role is expected to include:

Your skills and experiences

• You will ideally be qualified to degree level qualification in a STEM discipline, HND/HNC, or have equivalent experience
• You will have proven knowledge of Systems Engineering and the Engineering Lifecycle, typically experienced in applying subject knowledge in an integrated platform which involves safety and/or security related activities
• Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders nationally and internationally at high levels of classification
• Ideally you will have direct experience of working on complex computing solutions in areas such as systems management , avionics/Integrated Modular Avionic based solutions, systems integration, safety/security and / or equivalent complex programmes with an Aircraft background advantageous.
• Experience of VHDL, Verilog or Simulink or other similar languages
• A keenness to learn and apply experience in developing pioneering solutions to meet challenging requirements whilst achieving performance and regulatory (safety, airworthiness and security) needs
• Experience of Engineering and business processes, implications of decisions on time / cost / quality and be able to support timely and accurate performance reporting
• You will have proven interpersonal and influencing skills and be able to build strong and trusting relationships, with stakeholders at all levels

About the Role  

To be employed in this role you must be over the age of 18 and pass an enhanced safeguarding check.

You will also be dispensing spectacles and contact lenses as well as dealing with repairs and adjustments while ensuring stock has been received by the supplier.

We'll help you to become a star colleague from learning how to dispense glasses and contact lenses, looking after repairs, adjustments and glasses verification to teaching contact lens insertion and removals – with our great training and support, we'll help you keep getting better and better.  You’ll either complete our dedicated Asda Optical Step In training programme or have the opportunity to enroll on to the Level 3 Optical Assistant Apprenticeship, the training route you take depends on which nation you work and whether you meet the apprenticeship entry requirements but either way, Asda will support you in becoming a fantastic optical colleague, who can deliver amazing customer service and patient care.
