At OFG, we work smarter so you can spend more time doing what makes you happy!
Job Title: Domestic Assistant
Location: Higford School, Near Shifnal, Shropshire TF11 9ET
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 3 hours per day
Contract: Permanent, Term Time plus Two Weeks
Start Date: December 2025
UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
At Higford School, we believe every role has a purpose — and as our new Domestic Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the young people we support.
As part of the Options Autism family, we’re committed to providing a caring, supportive setting — and your work behind the scenes will help us do just that.
About the Role

No two days are the same — from general daily cleaning to supporting special deep-cleaning projects during school holidays, your attention to detail will help create a space our students and staff are proud of.
While experience is a bonus, what matters most is your can-do attitude, trustworthiness, and willingness to get stuck in.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks across classrooms, corridors, and shared areas
- Clean fixtures, fittings, floors, walls, and internal woodwork in line with cleaning schedules
- Maintain toilets, changing rooms, and other sanitary areas to high standards
- Help with deep-cleaning programmes during school closures or designated breaks

You’ll be joining a supportive, close-knit team where everyone’s contribution is valued — because we know a clean, safe school helps our young people feel calm, comfortable, and ready to learn.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A positive, dependable team player
- Someone who takes pride in their work and pays attention to the little things
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous cleaning experience is helpful — but not essential
- A friendly, respectful approach and willingness to learn

Job Description
Title : Self-Employed Milk Sampler
Location : Shropshire/Staffordshire border
Does being outdoors, travelling between farms, and supporting the dairy industry appeal to you? If so, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking for dedicated, self-employed Milk Samplers to join our team. This role offers the freedom to work across the beautiful countryside, visiting farms and collecting individual cow milk samples throughout the year. If you enjoy being out on farms, witnessing the seasons change, and want flexible work, this role is for you!
NMR (National Milk Records) supports the UK dairy industry by providing essential services like milk testing, recording, and data insights. Our work helps farmers monitor herd health, improve milk quality, and boost productivity, offering valuable information on breeding, nutrition, and disease management.
As a Self-Employed Milk Sampler, you’ll be at the heart of this process, visiting farms to collect milk samples from individual cows over a whole milking. These samples are crucial for NMR to deliver detailed reports, empowering farmers to make informed decisions that keep their herds healthy and their businesses thriving.
Why You’ll Love This Role :
- Flexible Hours: Milking times are typically early mornings or late evenings, making this role ideal for fitting around other commitments such as work, education, or family.
- Training Provided: While farm experience is a bonus, it’s not essential as we provide all Self-Employed Contractors with the training they need.
- Independence & Variety: Enjoy a mix of farm visits across the countryside.
What We’re Looking For :
- Valid driving licence & own transport
- Organised and self-motivated individuals
- An interest in farm life and dairy production
Self-Employed Role :
As a self-employed contractor, you’ll have the autonomy to manage your work independently. Payment for this role is based on herd size, calculated on a per-cow basis, and we’ll discuss the details before you’re allocated to a farm/s.
Register Today: Join us in supporting UK dairy farms. Ready to get involved? Click apply to register your details.
About us
We’re National Milk Records (NMR) a part of the AB Agri community committed to investing in an innovative range of milk quality, herd health and genomic testing services, generating data and building robust insights that empower farmers to make informed decisions on cow productivity.

We get a lot of applications for our roles and sometimes need to close the process early so register your details and upload your CV via our careers website as soon as you can – it will only take a few minutes.
When you do, we’ll ask you some equal opportunities questions just to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive – or show us areas we can improve.
