Job Description

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job Title:  Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Ryecroft School, Walsall, West Midlands WS2 7BH
Salary:     £25,000 per annum ( not pro rata )
Hours:     37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am – 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start:        November 2025
UK Applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

As part of our continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Ryecroft School, part of Options Autism. This is more than a support role — it’s a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people with autism and complex needs. You’ll be helping students overcome barriers, develop skills, and thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role

You will support the Positive Behaviour Lead and wider Inclusion Team to implement effective behaviour strategies and pastoral care. Your work will include monitoring behavioural trends, making positive interventions, and encouraging engagement through reward schemes and celebrations such as ClassDojo points, student leadership opportunities, and reward trips.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external agencies to support individualised behaviour plans, and guide staff in implementing strategies from EHCPs and Pupil Passports. Your presence around the school — in classrooms, during break/lunch, and at school events — will help create a safe, consistent, and positive environment.

This role is hands-on, challenging, and highly rewarding, giving you the opportunity to shape outcomes for students and contribute to the school’s wider ethos of inclusion, respect, and achievement.

Essential Requirements

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent Level 2 qualifications
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience working with autistic spectrum disorders and/or challenging behaviour
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to mediate, negotiate, problem-solve, and record information accurately

Desirable

  • Experience in education or pastoral roles within the SEND sector
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, or similar approaches
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and implementing behaviour plans

This is your chance to join a school that values every student, supports every staff member, and believes that positive behaviour support is the key to unlocking potential. If you are passionate, patient, and committed to making a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
