Hays Healthcare have been the primary supplier of clinicians into the NHS ambulance service based in London. We are currently recruiting RGN's (with Urgent Care experience) to help the ambulance service manage the vase number of 999 calls being received. The opportunity presents a fresh challenge, ideal for RGN's and Paramedics wanting to broaden their clinical skills within a non-patient facing environment.
Your new company
Working with one of the biggest ambulance services in England, you will be based in the Clinical Hub in either Barking, Waterloo, Bow, or Croydon. Operational 24 hours a day. We require Nurse Practitioners to be able to cover a variety of shifts because of this - e.g days, nights, and weekends.
Overview of role as Nurse Practitioner
You will be fully integrated into the Clinical Hub team, where you will undergo industry leading training and mentorship whilst still enjoying the benefits of being employed on an agency basis. Your role will involve speaking to patients who have called 999 but who may not necessarily need an ambulance dispatch/ED admission, using your professional clinical knowledge you will provide immediate access to clinical advice on their conditions or illness, and sign post them to the appropriate services.
What you will need for the role of a Nurse Practitioner
- Experience in emergency/urgent care roles;
- To be available for the full training period (1-2 weeks);
- An active NMC registration;
- Willing to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week
