Locum Microbiology Consultant required to deliver a comprehensive microbiology service to our local Trust.

We provide pathology services to various trusts in the local area and are always seeking out new ways to improve our services. Right now, we require a Microbiologist Consultant to contribute to the delivery of the Trust's vision, values and annual strategic objectives.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive microbiology service at the highest possible clinical standard. You will deliver an effective contribution to help improve our services and allow for more efficiency within our organisation. You will be a leader and take charge of ensuring the service is up to its highest standard. You will apply your extensive knowledge around NHS policy and national performance plans to drive the service to optimum performance. Your previous experience working leadership and management roles along with your experience of hands on research, working in collaboration with other technicians will lead to your success in this role.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be educated to degree level with a relevant science\/medical degree. You will hold a full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be eligible for registration within 6-months. You will also hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within 6-months of holding this. You will be experienced in a broad range of all aspects of clinical and laboratory microbiology, including Infection Control and possess a thorough understanding in clinical audit. You will demonstrate knowledge and awareness around diversity and human rights in relation to the people who use our services. You will have experience supporting patients to ensure they are receiving the highest standard of service and be able to empathise with patients and their families to treat them with compassion and sensitivity.
