Job Title: Quality Control ManagerLocation; ThetfordSalary: 32-35kTechnique Recruitment Solutions are specialists in Engineering & Manufacturing recruitment and have a new permanent opportunity to join a fast paced Engineering team as a Quality Control Manager The RoleThe role is within the quality team of a UK based manufacturing company with global offices. Responsibility for managing a team covering the full suite of testing from goods in through to final testing of finished goods. Having overall responsibility for the quality of items issued to production, stage inspections and final assembly testing including client witnessed Factory Acceptance Testing of electric heating equipment and their associated control panels. Duties\/Responsibilities:Manage the goods in inspection team ensuring that FIFO inspections of received goods is achieved in a timely manner to suit production needs. Monitor and measure supplier rejects driving any issues to completion including follow up communications and auditing as necessary. Maintain a project focus supporting the Project Management team with associated quality functions including compilation of ITPs, monitoring of ITP processes in production and attendance at quality inspection meetings. Conduct and supervise regular spot checks in production areas to maintain quality standards with product and associated documentation, reporting as necessary to interested parties. Review incoming material certification to ensure compliance with relevant standards and certification. Work closely with the Welding Coordinator to ensure that the necessary welding certification prolongation is maintained and recorded. Work closely with the Quality Assurance and Compliance Manger to ensure that any required auditing and QMS activities are maintained as necessary. Manage the Quality Inspectors to ensure that quality standards of testing are met whilst maintaining adherence to plan for production activities including final release of product for packing. Attend third party audits with the Quality Assurance and Compliance manager as needed to maintain an overall understanding of the quality control needs of those associated standards. Assist and maintain records associated with the issuing of Non-Conformance including reporting to the interested parties as needed. Required SkillsAbility to work as part of a team whilst managing its members and workload. Have experience of working within a quality department with a keen eye for detail. Be suitably confident to manage suppliers and company parties where component rejection or concession processes are needed. Have experience or able to quickly learn aspects of mechanical and electrical testing as needed to fully understand the business needs and manage the processes accordingly. Have the experience or willingness to learn auditing processes to perform internal and third party auditing as necessary.
