This an integral role in our finance function, ensuring delivery excellence in the Order to Cash function & driving great business partnerships with our Commercial Teams.  The main content of the job is delivering cash in from customers from all group companies through billing on company systems (we've been growing by acquisition, so there are multiple systems).  We've recently merged tbe Billing and Credit Control teams, as collections are mainly dependent on valid PO's, and billing as per agreed contract, so main activities will be resolving billing queries with customers and internal stakeholders (e.g. sales team); and discussing collection issues with customers, as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include being responsible for the efficient management of service charge debts owed, overseeing the various operations required to resolve debt repayment and introducing systems and procedures to enable the efficient collection of outstanding service charge and ground rent debts.

Your role


You will be working on all matters related to the debt of borrowers on the platform with a specific focus on borrowers who have fallen into arrears or financial difficulties.


Your responsibilities will include:

·   reaching out to borrowers in arrears or default via email, SMS and phone to discuss their account

·   being the main point of contact for borrowers in arrears or financial difficulties, and providing them with their repayment options and any support needed for managing their debt

·   setting up affordable repayment plans as and when needed, in line with our internal policies

·   liaising with debt management companies to confirm a customer’s debt on the platform and helping set up repayment plans

·   actively monitoring borrowers in financial difficulties and reaching out to them from time to time to reassess their circumstances

The Senior Asset Based Credit Officer covers a portfolio of asset-based lending clients, with responsibility for delivering credit solutions and managing risk. + Prepare detailed written credit summaries by analyzing the business, performing detailed financial analysis, interpreting the finance need, identifying the strengths and prevailing risk factors and rendering a final credit decision that meet the Business risk and return goals.
+ Prepare credit ratings and financial projections in order to assess the repayment capacity of borrowers.
+ Present credit analysis to approval committees and effectively answer questions when challenged.
+ Manage, negotiate and execute facility documentation following credit approval.
+ Stay abreast of developments within the global economy and designated industries in order to support problem recognition and the directional strategy of the business.
+ Ongoing early warning monitoring and the preparation of annual credit reviews for a portfolio of clients.
+ Maintain a solid understanding of Citi's products and services and the unique commercial bank proposition.
+ Work with colleagues globally to offer credit solutions to international subsidiaries understanding local market requirements.
+ Maintain compliance with Citibank credit policies / practices and regulatory policies, to ensure the business unit is in adherence and receives satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
+ Aid business unit goals by continuous identification of process improvements and efficiencies that reduce costs and improve customer service levels. Work with management team on prioritization and implementation of approved actions.
+ Provide backup to Credit Underwriting Group Manager, lead projects and initiatives and mentor lower level Credit Officers as needed.

Role Description:
As part of Global Banking & Markets, GCIB Credit manages and delivers the credit relationship for wholesale clients in accordance with the company's growth strategy, risk appetite and underwriting standards. While we are an independent function, we work closely with various lines of business, relationship managers, product specialists and Risk.
Global Banking & Markets includes corporate banking, investment banking and sales & trading. The group provides services to large corporations, government entities and institutional investors. These services include mergers and acquisition advice, equity and debt capital raising, corporate lending, sales and trading in fixed income, commodities, currency and equities, risk management, research, and liquidity and payments management.
Responsibilities:
+ Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Global Banking & Markets product spectrum.
+ Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the portfolio at the client, industry, and macro level to assess risk and craft value added solutions that balance risk.
+ Assess the credit worthiness, including due diligence of prospective borrowers and/or trading counterparties and establish appropriate terms and conditions to mitigate risk.
+ Structure transactions and negotiate credit documentation including; credit agreements, amendments, derivative documentation.
+ Ensuring granularity of the portfolio with specific reference to targets for net country/credit capital, legally binding commitments, total exposure and asset quality.
+ Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client's credit life cycle.
+ Develop, maintain, and manage internal relationships with business partners including Corporate and Investment Bankers, Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Syndications, and Legal.
+ Participate in strategic projects to support business goals.
+ Providing leadership and management within the team, comprising Associates and Analysts.
What we are looking for:
+ Credit skills and risk judgement/Knowledge of EMEA market and specific industry sectors, structuring and documentation.
+ Corporate Finance perspective and drives deal selection, screening and transaction management process.
+ Accomplished negotiator with good foundation in relative value assessment and risk mitigation techniques.
+ Understanding of credit risk sensitivities in the portfolio and risk drivers of the exposures.
+ Sound product/technical and process knowledge across lending and derivative (FX, rates, commodities and equities) products.
+ Ensuring that the portfolio and credit management process are at all times rated "satisfactory" by internal auditors, the Credit Review group and external Regulators.
+ Acting as an agent of change/improvement, influencing corporate policy/procedure and projecting a positive strategic vision.
+ Commercial mindset to support value added discussions with the clients and Relationship Managers.
+ Extensive credit risk experience at a major international financial institution, analysing, assessing companies in different sectors and structuring transactions.
Skills that will help:
+ Fluency in use of all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
+ Effective interpersonal and communication skills with ability to resolve issues in a professional and timely manner working in a team.
+ Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work under pressure to ensure to meet deadlines.
+ Fluency in English. Additionally, German language skills would be beneficial.
