Business Development Consultant - Energy and Utilities

Our client is an established, multi-million £ advanced engineering and services Group that delivers a range of complex systems, solutions, products and technical services to the Energy and Utilities sectors. To support further growth, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Consultant with a proven track record of selling consulting (professional services) within the UK. This is a full-time permanent role focused on developing and winning new business primarily based in London/SE with regional travel when required.

Working from a 'local' hybrid basis or the offices directly in London, the Business Development Consultant professional should have a proven success in direct sales within the Energy & Utilities UK sectors and has been involved in putting together complex services/solutions for clients alongside winning new business opportunities.

We are looking for someone who understands digital/technology services, and who comes from a background in consultancy (professional services). This role will be joining an existing multi-million business but most importantly a growing and innovative brand. You will have full autonomy to shape and develop the role alongside an established and supportive team.

With a high salary range, success will be well compensated.

Responsibilities:

-    Responsible for selling and winning new high value client logos

-    Responsible for the sales strategy and closure plans for new client opportunities

-    Achieves personal and team sales targets by supporting and continuously monitoring team performance.

-    Builds long lasting relationships as trusted advisor across their clients up to C level

-    Works in collaboration across functions to develop service offering value propositions

-    Where appropriate, liaises with other regions to grow portfolio presence in UK

Candidate placement and positive outcomes 

    < i>Collaborate with internal CT teams and head of Bootcamps to align candidates with suitable job opportunities based on employer needs and candidate qualifications.
  1. Ensure timely follow up and support for candidates throughout the recruitment and placement process. 
  2. li>Track and monitor candidate outcomes to meet or exceed GLA targets, including sustained employment beyond 4 weeks.  li>Provide regular updates and reporting on placement success rates and employer feedback.

Targets and performance delivery 

    li>Meet daily and weekly KPIs, including calls made, new employer agreements signed, meetings booked and job offers secured.  li>Consistently achieve or exceed placement targets to support the delivery of x amount set by programme manager for positive outcomes annually across Career Tree’s programmes.  Maintain high standards of professionalism, ensuring that all interactions with employers and candidates align with Career Tree’s values and goals. 

Partnership development 

  1. li>Collaborate with regional managers to identify growth opportunities in their respective areas and focus on in trend industries. 
  2. li>Build long term relationships with employers to ensure repeat business and referrals.

Compliance 

    li>Maintain accurate records of all employer interactions, vacancies and candidate progress within the CRM system and Asana.  li>Submit detailed weekly and monthly performance reports to the programme manager
  1. Ensure all recruitment activities comply with GLA requirements and Career Tree’s internal policies. 

Scope of work 

The BDC will focus on employer engagement as a primary function, ensuring the following outcomes:

  • Generating a pipeline of new business through a consultative sales approach from a range of SME businesses
  • li>Building strong networks and awareness of the company's Apprenticeship Training offer by attending and presenting at networking events and seminars
  • Creating engaging and effective vacancy advertisements
  • Producing costed quotations and proposals in order to win apprenticeship contracts
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of changes to industry funding, eligibility, legislation and regional grants
  • Scheduling regular contact with current employers in person and by telephone to build relationships and increase apprenticeship vacancies
  • Ensuring regular communication with internal stakeholders such as the delivery team

  • Recording all meetings and customer contact using the CRM database
  • Creating full, detailed job specifications and recruitment plans for allocation to the Resourcing Team

The ideal candidate will have previous experience and a successful track record in Recruitment sales or selling apprenticeships.

ROLE PURPOSE

As an Area Business Consultant, you'll interact with potential and existing clients to create new business chances across different sectors. This includes getting learners involved in their full range of Apprenticeship programs, funded training, or commercial training. You'll collaborate closely with your local team to meet enrolment goals and represent our clients at local events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively prospecting and identifying new business leads.

Researching potential clients and new business opportunities within your region.

Networking with local partners and clients to uncover new business opportunities.

Travelling to meet potential clients and partners to explore new business prospects.

Setting up and leading meetings and presentations to convert potential clients.

Tracking and managing new business opportunities using their CRM system.

Collaborating with the local team to prioritise new business generation and support enrollment targets.

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with new clients.

Achieving or surpassing monthly new business targets through proactive outreach.

Coordinating with area managers and internal teams to advance new business leads.

Collecting and sharing client feedback and market insights with relevant departments

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience in a business development role.

Experience of new business development and lead generation.

Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
