Shifts will be Monday to Friday from 10am to 9pm with 1hour unpaid lunch
Pay will be 15.25ph - 50 hours a weekImmediate Start
Must Have DBS
Tasks include working as Porter (moving furniture and accepting deliveries) as well during the day hours

A short description of the role:
The primary role of theCleaning Supervisoris to ensure that all individual office areas are maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.As well as being the primary point of contact for cleaning across communal areas, public spaces and event support.

The Cleaning Supervisor responsibilities are summarised and but not limited to:
    • Supervising the cleaning team
    • Ensure that cleaning is carried out and to the standard of the contract
    • Deliver Toolbox talks and Safety Conversations
    • Train the team on COSHH
    • Carry out monthly audits with the client
    • Complete weekly monthly timesheets
    • Ordering of cleaning supplies
We are looking for someone who has previous experience of both supervising and cleaning, because the supervisor will also have is own sections to clean. We are looking for someone who is a very good and clear communicator and can work with people at all different levels of the business. There is also opportunity for this position to grow in the near future.

We are seeking proactive,dedicated, detail-oriented cleaning supervisors to join our cleaning and waste management team, as a cleaning supervisor you will oversee a team of cleaners, coordinating their tasks and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained always.You and your team will be responsible for maintaining first class cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the venue. Your role is crucial in ensuring that visitors,exhibitors,and staff have a pleasant and safe experience throughout their visit.



Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of cleaning staff within allocated areas,including assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all areas within the venue to ensure cleanliness.Identifying cleaning tasks to be completed and prioritization by order of importance.
  • Inspect and audit the work of cleaning staff to ensure quality standards are met,provide feedback to Cleaning Manager and 3rd party provider as to the results of these.
  • Train new cleaning staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and safety procedures. Provide ongoing support, motivation, and guidance to ensure high-quality performance is always maintained.
  • Utilisation of specialist cleaning equipment such as compactors, carpet sweepers and so on following training and induction.
  • Schedule and arrange for periodic maintenance of areas and equipment such as washing out of bins, maintenance and cleanliness of compactor areas, common areas, loading bays and lorry ways.
  • Ensure all waste handled appropriately and in accordance with our waste management strategy, reducing contamination and ensuring all waste is placed in correct containers.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the cleaning & waste management industry.
  • Physically fit to meet the demands of the role including standing for long periods, walking and manual handling of waste.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning products, procedures, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of waste management principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and educate diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven organisational abilities & time management skills, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Role: Estate Cleaning Supervisor

Location of work: London City Island (Residential Development right next to Canning Town Station)

Hours of work : 40 per week, Mon to Fri

Contract: Permanent

*The successful candidate must hold a full UK clean drivers license.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hands on Yard Person role.
  • To ensure the external grounds of the estate and building externals are maintained to a high standard at all times.
  • Ensure all supervisory duties are carried out to the Property Managers instructions.
  • Keep records of staff lateness, sickness, appointments and holidays.
  • Carry out supplies stock takes monthly.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the management team and all residents whom you come into contact with.
  • Attend regular training sessions.
  • Ensure the staff uniform is worn and standards of appearance are maintained at all times.
  • Always ensure that the necessary Health & Safety signs are displayed and procedures followed for all chemicals and equipment before carrying out any work.
  • Ensure the yard team polish all steel fittings i.e. signage, bollard lights and handrails.
  • Ensure the yard team are removing cobwebs from rails, benches, fencing lobbies and door canopies.
  • Ensure that the bin rooms are cleaned and disinfected as well as all the deposited items removed.
  • Ensure that water features are free from leaves and rubbish following SOP guidelines.
  • Maintain a high standard of work throughout the estate.
  • Carry out regular jet washing of the external areas, including the bridge, as and when required.
  • Ensure the yard team water plants, maintain cleanliness of all external paths, roads, plant beds and gardens to the estate, ensuring all litter and cigarette ends are regularly swept up.
  • Ensure that all works are carried out as per specification.
  • Attend monthly meetings with your line manager and working colleagues.
  • Report any damage or defects immediately.
  • Ensure that all your equipment is kept in good working order, reporting any faults to your manager.
  • Ensure you address all residents, visitors and staff in accordance to the company standards at all times.
  • Regularly attend on-the-job staff customer care and in-house training courses.
  • Report all external maintenance issues to include damaged light bollards, trip hazards etc. to your manager.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory / manager experience (Advantageous)
  • Proven experience within a Yard/Cleaning role within a residential or commercial setting (Required)
  • Full UK Driving license (Required)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to motivate team

As a Working Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering top-tier cleaning services while actively participating in daily cleaning tasks.   • Perform floor cleaning once per week or as required, including carpets and hard floors during the shift. 

Requirements 

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the cleaning industry, preferably within a blue-chip company 
  • Strong knowledge of office cleaning techniques, equipment, and products 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities 
  • Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high cleaning standards
