Role Overview

we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager who will work alongside the Senior Commercial Manager and Head of Contracts. Assisting the Senior Commercial Manager with contract execution duties. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports Senior Contracts Manager and Head of Contracts with contractual administration tasks
  • Prepare NDAs and maintains register  
  • Assist with administration of compliance with all terms and conditions and supporting schedules of customer contract
  • Preparation and negotiation of contract change proposals
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for the project. 
  • Process purchase orders for the company
  • Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports and price lists 
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements
  • Assist supply chain in the development of specifications for equipment, materials, and services to be purchased 
  • Administer contract performance, including delivery, receipt, warranty, damages and insurance 
  • Reconcile or resolve value discrepancies 
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the customer commercial/contracts team
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with Team Leidos members

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, and strong experience as a contracts/commercial officer
  • Experience on large programmes/contracts employing complex business models and terms and conditions
  • Experience in contract administration and negotiations 
  • Must be a hands-on team player
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communications and problem resolution skills with a collaborative, win-win approach
  • Must take an active role in the performance of the contract and proactively working to identify risks, issues and opportunities 
  • Comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial status
  • Have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of MOD contracting
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both internally, with technical staff, peers, and management as well as externally, with customers, and others

Skills Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • Experience managing and negotiating contracts with UK Government or Ministry of Defence
