The role:

Designer Roofing & Cladding : Dealing with various Roofing & Cladding systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

-Produce project specific Fabrication drawings.

-Review project contact drawings & specification, i.e. Architects, Structural Engineers, Steelwork, etc, and raise any necessary design queries.

-Attend Design meetings both on site and via Teams where necessary.

-Liaise directly with Customers, Architects, etc, as part of the design process.

-Liaise with system manufacturers and suppliers.

-Liaise with site staff, supervisors, installation operatives, etc, in respect of any design related issues.

-Material scheduling and procurement.

-Site measuring and surveys as and when necessary.

They design, supply and install roofing, wall cladding and rainscreen facade systems. They provide effective solutions for the refurbishment of buildings and offer over-cladding, strip & re-clad and flat to pitch roofing.

The Person:

The ideal candidate would be an experienced Roofing & Cladding designer who would have the opportunity to develop in to a senior role within the Business. They will have Design experience with building envelope solutions.

Industry sector: Roofing & Cladding - All aspects of the Building Envelope including but not limited to Standing seam, Composite, Rainscreen cladding, Single-ply flat roofing, Hot melt roofing, SFS Structural Framing Systems.

AutoCAD experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings, preparing accurate parts lists, and supporting the procurement process. Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Designer / CAD Technician:

• p>Produce 2D AutoCAD drawings, engineering models, design base documentation, and technical reports.

• Supervise junior designers in the production of drawings and engineering models (depending on experience).

• Carry out design risk assessments, raise design quality plans, and review design changes.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in water design engineering projects (preferably with utilities such as UU, STW, YW, SW).

• Engineering qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of process safety, with knowledge of hazard identification and risk control methods (e.g., LOPA, ALARP, HAZID, HAZOP).

• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Plant 3D (preferred)

• Experience using programs such as BIM 360 and Navisworks.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels—from production teams to senior management.
