Are you from an electrical, controls and instrumentation background and looking to join a growing company where you will be able to progress your career by playing a key role in their new in-house engineering team?

Do you have experience within a process engineering industry and want to further develop your skills within the oil & gas sector?

This company are one of the UK's leading distributors of oil for both households and businesses. With nearly 100 depots across the UK, they are currently in a period of growth and now looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join their team and help them continue with their growth.

In this role the successful candidate will oversee breakdowns, faults, maintenance and remedial works for the company's depots across Northern England and Scotland. They will work closely with the Head of Engineering on strategy and help develop more junior members of staff. This will be a remote based role with site travel across the Northern England and Scotland.

The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical, controls and instrumentation and experience working within a process and hazardous industry such as oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG etc. They must also have a full driving license and be located in Northern England or Scotland with flexibility to travel to sites across that area.

Position Purpose

The New Business Development Manager is responsible for establishing and developing new industry relationships, partnerships, and clients in the Energy sector (Upstream Oil & Gas).

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish new industry relationships, partnerships, and clients in the Energy sector at senior levels (including C-Level and Senior Leadership).
  • Expand the network and market reputation of our business. Solidify and strengthen our company status as a partner of choice to the Energy industry.
  • Commercial negotiation and execution of client contracts for the provision of recruitment and contracting services. Develop quotes and proposals for prospective clients. Support tendering bids.
  • Conduct thorough background research on prospective clients and new business opportunities / markets. Maintain knowledge of client activity and potential recruitment needs.
  • Create new business for the recruitment and resourcing teams in a diligent, professional, and meticulous manner. Protect and respect the confidentiality of such assignments.
  • Present, articulate and highlight our business success stories, benefits and value-add to new clients. Leverage every success with clients in our target markets to create new business leads.
  • Attend industry conferences and networking events in the UK and internationally. Our client base will be international and face-to-face networking will be required to increase visibility, strengthen networks, and grow long-term relationships.
  • Arrange regular client meetings and new introductions within our relevant industry and sectors (face-to-face and virtual).
  • Be an ambassador for Diversity & Inclusion in the Energy sector.
  • Set standards and best practices for all new business development activities, as well as clear sales targets, goals and objectives.
  • Mentor and guide recruitment team members with new business development aspirations and potential.
  • Support Senior Management with sales team initiatives and develop plans for business and revenue growth.
  • Plan and monitor performance against targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis with Senior Management.
  • Work closely with our Business Support Team (Finance, Administration, Contracts) to ensure smooth and timely delivery of services to Clients and Contractors.
  • Work closely with our Marketing Manager to increase the online visibility and brand awareness of our business.
  • Align with HR-L&D to ensure the team is led according to the company’s culture, vision and values. Follow HR processes and provide suggestions for team’s L&D needs.
  • Contribute own unique work experience and knowledge to employees through regular contact and displaying an upbeat confidence and passion for the business.
