Adecco have an exciting role in for a Maintenance Technician to join our client in Invergordon on a permanent basis. Our client is ideally looking for someone with expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems.

Your primary responsibility will be to safely execute planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance tasks. You will ensure that all work is completed accurately and on time, maximising plant and equipment up time and safeguarding company assets. Accurate data entry into the CMMS system is crucial for driving data-led decision-making.

The role is working a day shift Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned maintenance tasks safely, with high quality, and within the scheduled time frame.
  • Complete inspection and testing as per the maintenance plan.
  • Respond promptly to reactive and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure safe operations and protect company assets.
  • Accurately enter maintenance data into the CMMS system and maintain other records/logs as required.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for reactive and emergency maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Risk Assessments (RA), and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) protocols.
  • Assist in documenting SOPs and RAs.
  • Follow procurement and goods-in processes, manage store inventory, and participate in audits.
  • Be part of a four-week on-call rotation.
  • Engage in routine operator training programs.
  • Promote a culture of safe working practices and compliance with legal and internal requirements.
  • Report unsafe acts and conditions observed on site.
  • Support the integration of site capital projects.
  • Ensure stores procedures are followed to maintain inventory control.
  • Work collaboratively within the team, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Identify and complete required training, maintaining accurate training records.
  • Communicate opportunities for continual improvement and participate in implementation projects.
  • Attend and contribute to team/site meetings.
  • Provide support during emergency breakdowns or maintenance shutdown periods.

Experience:

  • Essential: 2+ years in a similar role, experience with similar plant/equipment
  • Preferred: Experience in a comparable industry, knowledge of COMPEX/ATEX regulations, experience with a Quality Management System (QMS)

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Electrical and/or mechanical trade certificate, UK Valid Driver's License
  • Preferred: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent, current COMPEX certificates, FLT/Telehandler license, HNC in engineering

Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Technician role

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will:

  • Ensure that assigned work scopes are carried out safely, to the highest quality and carried out on time
  • Ensure Inspection and Testing regime is completed as per Maintenance Plan
  • Be involved in root cause analysis investigations for reactive and emergency maintenance to help prevent recurrence of the issue
  • Assist and be actively involved, where required, with the integration of site capital projects
  • Endeavor to assist maintenance and site teams where required with overtime, out of hours support during emergency breakdowns or during maintenance shut down periods
  • Take part in an on-call rota
  • Other duties as required


Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • HND/HNC in process engineering - Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation or Modern Apprenticeship completed or N/SVQ level 3 - Mechanical ECITB Or a similar qualification. Will consider time served
  • Full UK Driving license (essential)
  • IOSH (preferred)
  • FLT/Telehandler licence (preferred)


Personal skills

The Maintenance Technician role would suit someone who is:

  • At least 2 years' experience within anaerobic digestion or a similar processing environment
  • Experience working under a Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Experience within a similar industry working under the remit of COMPEX/ATEX regulations
  • Electrical experience within the industrial sector (preferred)
