**Job Description**
We have an exciting opportunity for a **Principal Stakeholder Engagement Consultant** to join our Stakeholder Engagement, Consultation and Communications team in Cardiff, who is passionate about delivering effective communications and who can demonstrate experience of engaging with and consulting a wide range of audiences to support complex projects.
Reflecting an exciting pipeline of existing and upcoming projects, we are looking for someone to lead a range of projects in Wales, help grow our team and expand the range of services we already provide our clients.
**Here's what you'll do:**
**Communications:**
+ Developing communications strategies and delivery plans for complex or major infrastructure projects, at various stages of the project life cycle
+ Developing themes, core messages and collateral for multiple audiences and stakeholders, including digital users, the media, local communities, statutory bodies, technical groups, and elected representatives
**Engagement and consultation:**
+ Identifying and mapping stakeholders for client projects, and establishing an engagement strategy and delivery plans
+ Supporting consultation delivery, developing surveys, managing stakeholder feedback channels and analysing consultation responses, helping make sure these are reflected in project proposals
+ Planning and delivery of events, both physical and virtual, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all attendees, delivering logistics, developing tailored materials, developing Q&As and briefing colleagues
**Client relations:**
+ Liaising with internal and external clients, ensuring a high level of customer service and ensuring accurate, timely reporting
**Business development:**
+ Helping support the growth of stakeholder engagement and communications services across AECOM, focusing on providing advice and support to teams in Wales. This will require working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
+ Identifying and delivering new business opportunities outside of AECOM in Wales, and across the UK and Ireland
**Project and team management:**
+ Managing a range of projects, project teams and budgets
+ Delivering on time and on budget, flexibly
+ Supporting junior colleagues to grow, including line management responsibilities.

+ You have extensive experience of leading communications, consultation or engagement work, with a particular focus on projects in Wales.
+ You have a strong understanding of Welsh politics and consenting regimes.
+ You are experienced in managing teams of different sizes and complexity, including supporting junior colleagues with their career development.
+ You have a strong interest and experience in industry sectors relevant to our business (e.g. infrastructure, transport, energy, water, residential development, commercial development), and are confident engaging a variety of audiences and stakeholder groups.
+ You're proactive and ambitious, work well both alone and in a team, and can bring about new ideas on engagement.
+ You have great personal communication skills, are culturally aware, and have a strong focus on inclusion and accessibility. For you, giving people a chance to influence projects that are delivered in and around their communities for the better, is key.
+ You have a keen eye for new business opportunities.
+ You're willing to work flexibly and travel when required to meet with clients and project teams.
+ Fluency in Welsh (written and spoken) would be preferable
+ You hold a Degree or a Masters in a relevant subject (for instance: Social Science, History, Politics, Geography, Language and Literature, Law, Business.), or an equivalent number of years of successful, relevant experience.

The role will require you to demonstrate your strengths around visual design and data presentation, as well as skills relating to data analysis, metrics and reporting.
Experience working in a large, complex, global organization is required, with experience working within engineering, consultancy, or similar professional services organisations preferred.

Ideally you will currently be working as an experienced professional in the nuclear sector with a track record of providing pragmatic, innovative and enabling work supporting the consenting and/or regulation of nuclear sites through the lifecycle, from nuclear new build to site decommissioning.

**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ Solid understanding of the safety and sustainability issues facing nuclear sector companies, primarily around nuclear and radioactive substances regulation.

In this role you will support and input to our growing portfolio of high-profile marine projects.
Here's what you'll do:
+ **Provide Expertise:** As an **Principal Marine Consultant** you'll manage environmental inputs across a diverse range of marine projects. Manage the preparation of EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments/ Environmental Statements (and in the future Environmental Outcomes Reports) and supporting assessments and documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters. You'll be involved in all project life stages, from early strategy development and site identification studies, through feasibility, optioneering/ option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of conditions, construction, and scheme operation/ maintenance.
+ **Ensure Quality:** Your role requires a critical eye for detail to ensure that our deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards and compliance with our rigorous quality management procedures.
+ **Project Management:** Make effective use of your project management skills, appropriately managing resources and budgets (with support as applicable).
+ **Collaborate:** You will work as part of integrated team to improve the environmental outcomes of our projects - you will identify environmental constraints, identify impact avoidance and mitigation solutions, as well as opportunities to deliver benefits.
+ **Client Contact:** Your role will require the management of client relationships, internal teams and subcontractors.
+ **Growth:** You will promote AECOM's environmental services to both internal and external audiences. You will identify and lead business development opportunities and associated fee and technical proposal development.

**Qualifications**
**Ready to push the limits of what's possible?**
Here's what we're looking for:
+ A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree) and ideally an appropriate professional membership (Chartered Environmentalists preferred).
+ Comprehensive EIA consultancy experience, with proven skills in managing the preparation of environmental reports and the technical review of specialist chapters.
+ A detailed understanding of marine consenting and licensing regimes around the UK and ideally Ireland.
+ The ability to support collaborative teams, coordinating inputs from technical specialists. Requires the ability to work closely with our clients and the provision of bespoke advice that helps clients to successfully deliver their goals.
+ Project management skills, including programming, staff resource and budget management.
+ A commitment to innovation and continuing professional development.
+ Interest in line management duties and staff mentoring.
+ Developing skills in leading business development opportunities.
+ Efficient verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing, and confidence when engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
