Our client has been established for more than 70 years and are internationally renowned leaders in the development and manufacture of precision stamping and pressing applications for an impressive range of clients throughout the world and are now seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Systems Engineer to complement their professional Quality Division.

Reporting to the Quality Manager and working in an ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001 and IATF16949 accredited environment based near Dudley, the successful candidate will be tasked with developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems within the business and the associated supply chain operating within, whilst contributing to and undertaking auditing in order to ensure internal and external compliance. Core duties for this varied and challenging Quality Systems Engineer role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment will include (but not be limited to):

  • Overseeing the effective implementation of the QMS throughout the company, including any business accreditations, whilst maintaining the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures and ensuring contents are appropriate for business
  • Analysing current and future procedural needs of the business and both organising and managing the plant internal audit system and the corrective action reporting system
  • Conducting Quality Systems audits and assisting in training / providing guidance to other auditors as required as well as hosting external Quality System audits
  • Providing training on Quality issues and business processes and coordinating the review of Quality procedures associated with plant CI initiatives.
  • Planning Standard Operating practices required under the overriding Quality procedures and maintaining the SOP content and coordinating the issue of these documents
  • Supporting other functional areas of the business including procurement, business services and NPI and undertaking internal project and management audits during the tender, design and manufacture stages whilst ensuring compliance with all HSE policies and procedures and creating and presenting progress reports as required.
  • Collating quality data for monitoring targets and reporting on KPI's.
  • Adhering to and being the champion for process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system and performing RCA for problem resolution.
  • Supporting the quality team with first off sample approvals when required
  • Promoting the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing) and contributing to CI activities as well as maintaining and developing your knowledge of manufacturing and engineering trends related to product quality.

To be considered for this exceptional Quality Systems Engineer opportunity it is envisaged the successful candidate will have attained a relevant manufacturing or engineering degree and be a member of an industry related professional body, demonstrating essential knowledge of quality and business systems and strong knowledge of IMDS, APQP, PPAP and FMEA, along with Lean Manufacturing / Six sigma and ITAF 16949, ISO 13485, ISO 9000, gained within a high volume manufacturing environment.

You will demonstrate a good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes, measurement and quality assurance, with knowledge of both ISO 27001 and ISO14001 and Health and Safety Practices gained in an automotive environment proving distinctly advantageous. Your primary responsibility will be to enact good systems engineering practices in a predominately Windows environment. Key subsystems include radio, video and network interfaces.   • Current clearance, or the ability to gain DV clearance.
  • MS Windows Server administration experience and associated technologies such as AD, DNS & DHCP.
  • MS SQL Server Administration experience would also be useful.
  • Responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical Microsoft server systems.
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies e.g. Vmware, Hyper-V
  • Manage server patching through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Configure and maintain Windows servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models, e.g Veeam, BackupExec
     

It would be nice if you had:

  • Red Hat experience.
  • Working knowledge of radio technologies, in particular ROIP.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of JSP440 security guidelines.
  • Knowledge/Experience working within an MBSE environment.
  • Experience of working with industry partners and platform integrators to support platform integration and installation.

Location: This role will be based in Herefordshire, with very occasional travel to other sites.

Our client has been established for more than 70 years and are internationally renowned leaders in the development and manufacture of precision stamping and pressing applications for an impressive range of clients throughout the world and are now seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to complement their professional Quality Division.

Reporting to the Quality Manager and working in an ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001 and IATF16949 accredited environment near Stourbridge, the successful Quality Engineer will be tasked with leading all aspects of the Quality Engineering function (both internal and external) and taking responsibility for APQP, resolution of internal concerns, customer complaint management and supplier quality.

Core duties for this varied and challenging Quality Engineer role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment will include (but not be limited to):

  • Supporting internal manufacturing with QC tools, techniques, documentation, training and expertise and ensuring adherence to internal, third party and customer Quality standards.
  • Batch release process.
  • Leading the APQP / PPAP process.
  • Auditing suppliers for compliance based on the needs of the business and developing improvement plans with suppliers.
  • Reviewing and improving new and existing suppliers in line with company procedures and requirements
  • Management and approval of supplier PPAP and supplier changes.
  • Reviewing supplier non-conformances and working with suppliers to close out issues (8D, 5 Why)
  • Liaising with customers regarding supply of defective material
  • Undertaking all aspects of Customer concern / complaint management.
  • Leading improvement / corrective action processes in response to customer concerns.
  • Reviewing customer non-conformances and work with customers to close out issues (8D, 5 Why)
  • Maintaining and developing constructive relationships with internal and external customers, Quality and Supply Chain Managers, PVV Metrology Engineers and manufacturing teams as well as suppliers and the engineering divisions.

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity it is envisaged the successful candidate will be qualified to HND level or above in a relevant manufacturing or engineering discipline and a Chartered Institute member. Experience of IATF16949 is essential for the position with IATF16949 auditing experience and ISO13485 experience proving distinctly advantageous.

You will demonstrate high volume batch manufacturing experience along with the ability to manage multiple projects at any one time, with excellent communication skills at all levels and solid problem-solving skills and 8D root cause analysis experience gained in a similarly dynamic manufacturing environment.
