The Role

The Children in care team in Milton Keynes is a rewarding team to be in, we act as corporate parents to the children and young people in our care. We are ambitious for our children and deliver a high standard of service to ensure our children and young people achieve good outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • Chairing multi-disciplinary meetings and working closely with other agencies/professionals to complete assessments and formulate child centred care plans.
  • Completing annual Children and Family Assessments on each case to ensure that the care plan for the child/young person is reviewed.
  • Ensuring that children have all of their day-to-day care needs met and fully understand their care story. This will be through the provision of direct work/life story work and multi-agency working with other professionals.
  • Managing a caseload of up to 18 children with children subject to Care Orders, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children, Placed with Parents and children subject to Placement Orders.
  • Working as part of a team to share knowledge, develop team skills and contribute to the overall development of the team.



Skills & Experience

  1. A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  2. Committed to supporting children, young people and their families and has the resilience to go that extra mile to ensure they achieve their potential.

The East Adult Social Care Team, based in Bicester,  are looking for an enthusiastic Social Worker to join our team.  If you would like to become part of  a team which is innovative, supportive and promotes the development of your skills - we are the place for you!

About the Role  

We’re transforming the way we support our social workers by enabling our communities to get the best outcomes possible for each and every person we support. We do this through our commitment of strengthened supervision, ongoing professional training and manageable caseloads, so that you can bring your best self to the people you work with. You will be working alongside Occupational Therapists, Apprentices and coordinators  in a team that is supportive and motivated to support each other learn and develop. The East Team is passionate about supporting each other to ensure we deliver the best outcomes  for the people we support. We continue to strive to work towards excellence in practice, and as a team colleague you will: 

  • Empower people in your community to identify their strengths and desired outcomes, embracing new ideas and ways of doing things to improve and maintain their independence.
  • Utilise a strength-based approach to promote people’s wellbeing to help them achieve their desired outcomes.
  • Support people and carers to ensure their voice is heard through advocacy where necessary.
  • Engage in group learning and CPD to help further develop evidence-based practice.
