Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with engineering and business leaders to anticipate hiring needs, shape role profiles, and align recruitment strategies with business growth and technical capability requirements. Maintain oversight of all open roles and support succession planning.
  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle—from requisition through to offer—ensuring efficient, data-driven processes. Optimise use of recruitment systems (ATS), monitor performance metrics (e.g. time-to-hire, quality-of-hire), and manage external recruiter relationships.
  • Drive proactive sourcing through talent mapping, industry networking, and direct outreach to build pipelines of engineering talent. Champion the employer brand and ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience that reflects our values.
  • Lead structured and inclusive interview processes with clear technical evaluation frameworks. Train hiring teams to ensure evidence-based decisions and compliant practices.
  • Report on key recruitment metrics to inform decision-making. Contribute to broader People initiatives such as competency frameworks, retention strategies, and organisational design aligned with engineering growth stages.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in talent acquisition or HR, ideally within engineering, industrial, or technical sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple recruitment streams in fast-paced or high-growth environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working cross-functionally with technical and operational teams.
  • Highly organised, data-literate, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy and proficient with ATS and recruitment tools.

Accountabilities

  • Manage the future capabilities and skills agenda, partnering with our Learning & Development (L&D) function, delving into the capabilities and skills required to establish clear learning pathways for our graduates and interns, including internal L&D initiatives as well as external opportunities such as apprenticeships
  • Working with managers to define capability needs, with specific requirements per stream, with defined linkage to our capability and Talent matrixes
  • Support the development of data reporting for the function, working with internal stakeholders to evolve the data landscape within the space and oversee a clear structure of presenting regular data trends, metrics and milestones to the business to better understand our Emerging Talent landscape of today and what opportunities we have to further develop our talent for tomorrow
  • Collaborate with strategic workforce planning leads to support in providing insights into our Emerging Talent capability and skills landscape to support workforce of the future
  • Spearhead "Brilliant Basics" ensuring we drive consistent and seamless experiences for our graduates, interns, year in industry and identifying areas to improve, simplify and enhance the experiences in partnership with Emerging Talent networks
  • Oversee interventions to ensure we retain talent, considering what we need to do to achieve this and grow the retention of candidates across the graduate programme cohorts
  • Implement an alumni proposition, leveraging existing insights of Top Talent and emerging talent mobility across the business to promote positive experiences, learnings and opportunities to navigate a squiggly career
  • Oversee and manage graduate placement reviews, changes and rotations
  • Oversee and embed best practice for graduate performance and talent milestones including objective setting, regular performance and career conversations, talent assessment and succession planning, aligned to group approach
  • Support managers and mentors throughout the graduate and intern journey
  • Shape and facilitate working groups based around simplifying and enhancing the graduate and intern experience
  • Establish insight into enhancing the Emerging Talent proposition, attending external events, building a strong external network, performing market research, and providing recommendations to support the wider vision

Competencies

  • Passion for early and emerging talent and driving positive change in this space
  • Good understanding of the Emerging Talent marketplace
  • Good understanding of the Emerging Talent graduate and intern schemes across industry
  • A commercial acumen that can lean into a variety of business needs
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills able to flex to differing audiences, internal and external
  • A resilient and curious nature, eager to learn from challenges and look to continuously improve and evolve our approaches
  • A grasp of growth mindset and bringing that to the Emerging Talent space
  • Data driven with good excel skills, an ability to understand data, find trends and use other software tools to support this
  • Good skills across Microsoft packages including Power Point, MS Teams and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple projects from start to completion simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of risk management and able to manage risk effectively
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate concisely and calmly with stakeholders both internally and externally from varying cultures and at different levels
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and individually
  • Desire to personally develop and continuously improve
  • Can work to strategy and long-term vision, as well as have a strong agile nature, able to be respond to business and operational needs

  • Experience of operational management and meeting customer/client needs, whilst maintaining a responsive, high-level service when working under pressure

Role Overview

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • O sessively driving your sales pipeline to a successful close
  • Identifying trends in the wider market through regular scanning of the sector and competitor analysis that can translate into commercial opportunities

  • Collaborating with internal colleagues in Product Management, Marketing and Sales to develop campaign/market specific propositions
  • Delivering value proposition at CEO and Director level
  • Maintaining Microsoft Dynamics CRM system with all activity, information, and updates.
