 Fixed Term Contract - 16 months

Paying up to £60k plus good benefits including bonus and PMI

Medlock Partner are partnering with a Manchester based Financial Services business, looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Partner to join them on a 16-month fixed-term contract. This is a delivery-focused role, supporting fast-paced, business-critical hiring across a broad range of teams.

The successful person will take ownership of the full recruitment process—using direct sourcing, referrals, and agency support where needed—to find and secure the highest quality talent. The roles you’ll be hiring for span investment, risk, technology, compliance, and operations, so experience in financial services, investment management or capital markets would be preferable.

You will be client-focused, with a strong commitment to understanding the needs of hiring managers and delivering great outcomes. You’ll be expected to take ownership vacancies from brief to offer, ensuring timely delivery, build and manage strong talent pipelines across multiple sourcing channels, partner with stakeholders at all levels, to offering credible, practical advice and guidance. You will also support and/or lead on wider HR, people and talent initiatives, such as process improvements, diversity hiring, early careers, EVP and candidate onboarding projects.

Key responsibilities for the Talent Acquisition Partner:

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and run targeted direct sourcing campaigns for permanent roles in IT, Finance, Governance, Risk & Legal, IT & PMO.
  • li>Manage the full recruitment process, from sourcing and screening to coordinating interviews and guiding candidates through to offer stage.
  • Ensure a great experience for both candidates and hiring managers, providing clear communication, timely feedback, and a smooth hiring process.
  • Support and/or lead on wider HR, people and talent initiatives, such as process improvements, diversity hiring, early careers, EVP and candidate onboarding projects.
  • Work with the HRD's and Business Leaders to develop and implement creative and effective recruitment strategies to attract a diverse high quality talent pool.
  • Keep hiring managers, HR Business Partners, and the Talent Team updated with regular recruitment reports and insights.
  • Help improve recruitment processes by working with the Talent Acquisition team to streamline workflows, enhance ATS usage, and make better use of data and technology.
  • Support and coach hiring managers to ensure they feel confident conducting fair, effective interviews and making strong hiring decisions.

Key requirements of the Talent Acquisition Partner:

  • Extensive recruitment experience in an in-house, internal, or RPO role, with a strong track record of hiring top talent across financial services, including Governance, Risk & Compliance, Legal, IT & PMO, Finance & Accounting, and Technology, and Investment.
  • Strong direct recruiting capability with the ability to use sound judgment of when to outsource roles to third-party suppliers to get the best results.
  • Solid experience of recruiting for financial services, with a particular focus on the Northwest, with knowledge of market trends, key talent pools, industry terminology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Great communication and relationship-building skills, you're confident working with people at all levels, from candidates to senior stakeholders.
  • Approachable, professional, and easy to work with.
  • Pragmatic, with strong problem-solving abilities, quick to find solutions, whether that means adjusting sourcing strategies, expanding talent pools, or trying new ways to engage candidates.
  • As a subject matter expert in talent acquisition, with bring deep knowledge of best practices across the hiring lifecycle, including compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements, right-to-work regulations, and diversity and inclusion standards.
  • Ability to work at pace without compromising on quality, able to manage multiple roles at once.
  • A strong sense of professionalism and integrity, ensuring every candidate has a positive experience and that recruitment decisions are fair and well thought out.
  • Comfortable using recruitment tools and systems, including ATS platforms, and open to using data to improve hiring processes.

Focus of the role:

As the Talent Acquisition Specialist for BCN, you will oversee the internal recruitment efforts for our dynamic organisation of circa 350 employees. With circa 10-15 open vacancies at any given time, your primary focus will be on ensuring a seamless, efficient and effective recruitment process. You will drive best practices in talent acquisition and ensure the attraction and retention of high-calibre candidates.

You will play a key role in engaging potential tech hires through a variety of methods to successfully deliver against business requirements. You will be a proficient recruitment professional with experience of recruiting roles at different salaries and complexities. With excellent communication and negotiation skills, you will be able to quickly build relationships with both candidates and internal stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.

This role is integral to our HR & Talent function and plays a crucial part in supporting the growth and success of our business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in talent acquisition, strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for internal roles, ensuring timely and high-quality hires.

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and create effective job descriptions.

  • Support and guide hiring managers during interviews when needed to ensure a smooth and consistent process.

  • Source candidates using platforms like LinkedIn, job boards, social media, and networking.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey, from initial contact to onboarding.

  • Act as the main point of contact for our PSL, where agency support is necessary.

  • Proactively build and maintain talent pools for future hiring needs, identifying and engaging potential candidates ahead of demand.

  • Manage the onboarding experience for all new starters from offer accepted to first day.

  • Conduct new starter inductions to ensure smooth integration into the company.

  • Act as the main point of contact for work experience candidates from time to time, coordinating their placements and support.

  • Track and report on key recruitment metrics to identify trends and suggest improvements.

  • Stay up to date with recruitment best practices and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.

Person, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ in talent acquisition or recruitment.

  • Previous experience within the IT industry and recruiting for niche, technical vacancies would be desirable.

  • Strong background in managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing to onboarding.

  • Experience in developing and implementing recruitment strategies aligned with organisational goals.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with and influence senior leadership and hiring managers.

  • Proficiency in analysing recruitment metrics and data to drive continuous improvement and optimise processes.

  • In-depth understanding of current recruitment trends, tools, and best practices.

  • Experience managing relationships with external recruitment agencies, including negotiation and collaboration.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to recruitment and hiring.

  • Ability to manage multiple recruitment projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience using an ATS and other recruitment software.
