The Role:

Requirements:

  • Experience working with teams of 15 to 30 people across product-led environments.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the retail software or enterprise technology sector.
  • Exposure to programme-level or scaled delivery.
  • Qualifications in project and agile methodologies.

THE ROLE

THE ROLE

With a packed calendar of live events ahead, the team is now on the lookout for an experienced Technical Project Manager to support and lead the technical delivery of projects. A client-focused role, this position covers a wide range of responsibilities including:Managing end-to-end delivery of multiple live projects

  • Building and maintaining client relationships
  • Developing quotes and technical proposals from client briefs
  • Creating technical schematics and layout plans using AutoCAD
  • Leading site visits and client-facing meetings

THE CANDIDATE

We're looking for someone with solid experience in technical project management - ideally within a production company or AV supplier environment. You should be confident managing the full life cycle of event production, from client engagement and quoting, right through to onsite execution. A comprehensive understanding of event technology (across lighting, video, audio, and scenic) is key, along with hands-on experience leading crews and suppliers on-site.

Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is advantageous, and flexibility with working hours (including evenings and weekends) is a must. A full driving license is also highly desirable.

**About the Technical Event Project Manager**
As the Technical Event Project Manager, you will have experience of event production where you have had oversight of the planning, vendor management and execution of live meetings and events, including exhibition build and project management. You will be responsible for a range of activities to support the successful project management, planning and production of conferences and exhibitions for our Pharmaceutical Clients. You will collaborate with and work alongside, Account and Event Project Management team members to deliver projects on time, to scope and within budget. You will monitor progress, address delays, and keep Clients, project teams and suppliers informed.
You will be proficient at working with, leading, and directing suppliers and managing issue resolution, both during the planning and onsite delivery of exhibition booth build and execution. You will have knowledge and experience of services such as electrics, water, Wi-Fi and rigging along with a good understanding of the health and safety risk assessments to ensure all projects are delivered safely. From a quality perspective, you will maintain high standards by overseeing the production of key components ensuring the adherence to design specifications as essential.
You will have experience of event production for in person meetings that includes oversight of suppliers responsible for the operation of audiovisual equipment including microphones, lighting, projectors and video conferencing tools to ensure the smooth running of presentations and interactive audience engagement sessions. You will feel confident collaborating with vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot technical issues and overcome the challenges that can occur in the delivery of live meetings and events.
This position is Client facing so you will have experience of developing relationships, anticipating their needs, and proactively managing solutions, acting as a conduit between a variety of stakeholders as a subject matter expert. You will have experience in working with Clients to bring to life their ideas by briefing in design concepts and working closely with suppliers on the technical aspects of live meetings and exhibitions.
This position is home based and will require occasional international travel to support the delivery of live meetings and exhibition project management and construction.
**Activities may include:**
+ Interacting and developing relationships with Clients on a regular basis to present ideas and proposals to support the production of their live events
+ Using knowledge and experience of hotels and meeting space to support discussions and proposals around meeting space capacity, stage set ups, acoustics, table configurations and power supplies
+ Briefing in and working with designers on technical drawings and plans to support exhibition booth build and design

+ Management of the E&T budget in their specific scope area and manage budgets within delegated authorities.
+ Schedule of the E&T scope in their specific scope area, supported by the E&T schedulers. Ensuring that the Design Schedule is updated to support planning of the L3 Design Supply Chain Deliverables and ultimately ensure that Execution Design Ready (EDR) is available to support timely construction and meet the Construction Need Dates.
+ Managing changes to cost and schedule through the SZC Change Management process, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events for their specific scope area.
+ Responsible for the management of L3 Design Supply Chain Contracts following Signature of Contract including the use of CEMAR for managing the L3 Design Supply Chain claims and variations.
+ Engaging with the L3 Design Supply Chain with SZC Procurement to outline and prepare the Design procurement process.
+ Co-ordinate with Civil Works Alliance and the other programmes (NI, CIBOP, SEOI) on the Design Delivery schedule and associated milestone logic.
+ Provide technical assistance to the SZC procurement teams and SZC commercial teams in setting-out the scope of design to be delivered and support the Tender process so that the procurement of the Design contracts, Task Orders are delivered in a timely manner against the agreed schedule in accordance with SZC Governance Procedures.
+ Lead on engagement with the CWP Delivery Senior Project Manager managing the RD/DDB for the E&T function (in their scope area) to ensure that the RD/DDB services are well coordinated with the L3 Designer services with regard to schedule. (Technical co-ordination is through the Design Manager).
+ Manage E&T Risks in accordance with SZC Risk Management Process for their scope area working in collaboration with the Design Manager.
+ Responsible for reporting on delivery in accordance with SZC Project Reporting requirements and cadence.
+ Coordinate with CWP Delivery Senior Project Manager for the E&T function (in their scope area) to align Design priorities with Delivery needs.
**Here's What You'll Need**
+ Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
+ Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE), or demonstrably working towards chartership, or accreditation with Association of Project Managers (MAPM).
+ Experience in the Project Management of large and complex projects.
+ Ability to manage and work to budget and programme, to control costs and manage change control processes.
+ Established and practical skill and experience across concept design, detailed design and construction stages, including management of design phases.
+ Desire to provide, technical leadership and collaboration within a technically orientated delivery team.
+ Experience of working with, and managing, focused technical teams including management of suppliers.
