Role Summary:

As the Engineering Technical Project Manager, you will take charge of leading and managing key hardware and software/firmware engineering projects in order to deliver to customers within the agreed scope, on time, quality and budget.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Leadership, coordination, proactive management, completion and delivery of assigned projects.
  • Support bids and proposals.
  • Lead, set and manage deadlines, monitor and manage progress of assigned projects.
  • Lead and direct the work of other project team members to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prepare cost and price build-up analysis using data in the company's MRP and cost models.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure aspects of each project are compatible.
  • Liaise with operations for lead time estimates and production schedule updates.
  • Coordinate internal business resources and third parties for the execution and delivery of multiple projects.

  • Coordinate resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor, track and report progress.
  • Manage project changes such as scope, schedule and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks and solutions to minimise potential risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Delegate project tasks effectively based on team members' individual strengths, skill, knowledge and experience.
  • Track project performance to analyse the completion of short and long-term goals/objectives.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients/customers.
  • Continually develop your own leadership and management skills.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Previous Project Management experience - ideally with an understanding of a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electro-optics, software, systems architecture etc.)
  • A track record in risk management.
  • From a defence or similar background.
  • Understanding of ground based Surveillance Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance technology and products.
  • Understanding of current end user concepts, tactics, techniques and procedures.
  • Be familiar with the principles of New Product Introduction and gate processes.
  • Project planning skills.
  • Budget management and cost control.
  • Project management and resourcing.
  • Risk identification, management and mitigation.
  • Process and continuous improvement.
  • Negotiation skills.

Our client has a unique opportunity for an experienced design build Technical Manager. The role includes primary responsibility for design management and co-ordination of all technical aspects of projects from planning approval through to project completion.

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will manage and lead the design on multiple schemes. The role will include reviewing design compliance, design efficiency, build-ability and developing value engineering opportunities with the commercial and operation teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and managing high risk building designs for gateway 2 submission / approval in preparation for commencement on site to achieve the best possible standard delivered through an efficient compliant design
  • Agreeing with the Technical Director and department heads initial design deliverables and design programme, liaise with commercial department to correlate procurement deadlines with design deliverables
  • Ensuring all aspects of the building design are fully coordinated, including but not restricted to, structures, faade, MEP, internal specification, Utilities co-ordination and service / maintenance strategies

We’re currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a dynamic team delivering key projects in the water treatment sector. This is a contract position offering a competitive £260 day rate, ideal for a seasoned professional ready to lead complex works in a fast-paced environment.

Day to day duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager:

•    Proven experience managing projects within the water treatment industry
•    Strong background in mechanical steelworks
•    Exceptional leadership and communication skills
•    Ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and site safety
•    Comfortable liaising with clients, engineers, and multi-disciplinary teams


Requirements Of the Project Manager: 

•    Oversee project delivery from start to finish
•    Coordinate mechanical installations and ensure adherence to technical specs
•    Monitor project progress, budgets, and quality standards
•    Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations on-site
