Job Duties
Facilities Management's professional, customer-oriented trades
people, mechanics, architects, engineers, and others are well-trained
to support the NSU community. The Departmentof Facilities Managementis
seeking a dynamic and qualified Administrative Office Assistantli to
serve as NSU Mail Worker.This position will provide mail services for
students, faculty,
and staff with emphasis on receipt and
distribution of incoming mail and to include,daily sorting and
distributing of all mail in the campus boxes for faculty and staff and
students. Operate mail machine, weight of letters and packagesonthe
Pitney Bowes SendPro System for accurate
postage.Prepare daily
business reply postage due charges for expenditures for distribution
reports. Enter daily proper department codes and process out-going
mail through meter machine. Pick up campus mail from the U.S. Post
Office at designated pick-up time and
properly secure mail.
Deliver mail to various campus buildings. Effectively explain
regulations of the Postal Services and University customers.
Communicatedeffectively with the general public.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Experience
in a fast paced, customer service driven environment.
2.
Experience with office equipment including Copier, Scanner, Fax,
Shredder, Mail Machine, and software Microsoft Office.
3. Ability
to interact with supervisors, students, faculty and staff in addition
to a diverse community/customer base.
4. Attention to detail
Is
necessary.
Additional Considerations
1. Mail handling experience, or experience in a similar
environment that demonstrates the knowledge,skills and abilities
required for this position.
2. The successful candidate must pass
a criminal background check.
3. Special Requirements Driver's
License and computerskills required, as
well as the ability to
lift at least 70 pounds.
