Shift Times: 24- or 30-hour
working week
Location: Rotherham, S63 7ER or
Wakefield, WF2 0XQ
Pay Rate: £11.44 - £19.72

Manpower has a number of
exciting positions available with one of our most valued NHS Trusts.
To be based in either Rotherham or Wakefield, the 111 Call Handler is
a vital role as the first point of contact for patients, their
relatives, healthcare professionals and other callers.
To be
successful as a 111 Call Handler you have the passion to help others
and commitment to building a career within the NHS. In addition, you
will be expected to have the following skills and qualifications:
- A C grade or higher in English GCSE or equivalent (Level 2 NVQ, GCE's etc)
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (the shift patterns are not accessible by public transport)
- Flexibility to work to an Anytime Rota (the role is 24/7, including Bank Holiday)
- Excellent telephone manner
- Experience within the call centre environment is preferred.
- Listening skills
- Active team player
- Empathy and a need to help people.
Hourly Rate: Pre 12
week - Weekdays £11.44, Evenings and Saturdays £15.44, Sundays and
Bank Holidays £19.33. After 12 weeks - Weekdays £11.67, Evenings and
Saturdays £15.75, Sundays and Bank Holidays £19.72.
During your
6-week training your shifts will be 0800-1600 or 1600-0000 and you
must be flexible to do both. Once you have completed your training you
will then move on to a mix or early shifts, all day shifts and late
shifts.
As a 111 Call Handler you will start with 6 weeks of
intensive full-time training which must be passed to enable you to "go
live" on the telephones in week 7.
In this call centre
environment, ALL calls are critical and the role can be quite
pressurised. Calls to the 111-service come through from the general
public and you must be able to deal with all calls and all callers in
a calm, professional and courteous manner demonstrating empathy for
the caller and ensuring that all callers feel comfortable and
confident that their situation is being dealt with competently,
effectively and in a timely manner.
