5 x Condition Surveyors to assess RAAC concrete in numerous government facilities nationwide.

This is an initial 6 month contract role that has an immediate start and a target limited company rate to man of circa £37.50 per hour.

Travel / accom expenses reimbursable.

UK locations to be confirmed.

This role will require security clearance

The role will be Hybrid working with daily travel throughout the UK.  

The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a Qdos assessment

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior technical Lead, you will be predominantly in the field surveying the client’s estate whilst managing a program of surveys capturing the condition of buildings and assets,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out condition structural surveys on Building Fabric in various types of properties.
  • Assess the likelihood and extent of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in buildings.
  • Maintain accurate records of all site visits including an accurate programme of surveys scheduled and attended.
  • Provide input on advice to the client for asset replacement of building elements and systems.
  • Be able to assess asset condition quickly and reasonably without intrusive or invasive inspections.
  • Identify all critical plant equipment for running the site(s).
  • Update systems with data to provide accurate and concise reports to the client.
  • Ad-hoc duties as may be deemed necessary.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Qualifications

Essential:
  • A bachelor’s degree in building surveying or approved RICS accredited degree.
  • Hold or eligible for security clearance levels Etc, Enhanced DBS clearance, CTC, SC, BPSS ad CTC clearances.
Desirable:
  • Member of a professional body in a relevant field e.g., MRICS, MCIOB etc.

Experience and skills

• Chartered Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers (CEng MIStructE), and/or
• Chartered Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE).
Ideally the Engineer should feature on the IStructE RAAC register
Requesting experience of specialist structural engineer
Evidence of experience of the following should be provided:
• surveying, assessment and design/specification of remediation works to existing buildings
• visual inspection works and desk-study works
• physical inspection works, either specification and management or physical works
• management and post-completion evaluation of remedial works construction.
Evidence of RAAC experience is essential.



Essential:
  • A proven track record of undertaking building condition surveys and structural conditioning.
  • Experience or knowledge of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) - Structural surveys.
  • Demonstrable experience of utilising mobile data capture and reporting tools.
  • Experience of working in commercial or government asset portfolios including infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in working in a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels.
  • IT literacy, including a demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • An eye for detail.

Desirable :
  • Experience in planning programmes of work for forward works and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to accurately record M&E asset and fabric condition.
  • Knowledge of asset maintenance requirements.
  • Experience in working in a secure environment.
  • Knowledge of KyKloud and/or Mobiess software (training can be given).
  • Experience or knowledge of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) - Structural surveys.
