Based near Stockport, my client
are seeking an AS400 RPG Analyst Programmer skilled in RPG Free Format
to enhance and maintain their bespoke applications.
Job
Description:
The successful candidate will be
responsible for analysing, designing, and developing applications on
the AS400 platform, utilising RPG Free Format. This role involves
maintaining and enhancing existing applications, troubleshooting, and
implementing new features in collaboration with our IT team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain applications using RPG Free Format on the AS400/iSeries platform.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications.
- Collaborate with various teams to define system requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Document all software development phases from requirement gathering to support.
- Optimize application performance and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an RPG Programmer, particularly in RPG Free Format.
- Strong knowledge of AS400/iSeries platform and bespoke software development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with SDLC and software development methodologies.
