Academy Assistant - Ingredients


Alexander Steele is recruiting on behalf of a Global Manufacturer of Food / Confectionery ingredients. This client is a world leader in their sector and operates across the full supply chain from the sourcing of raw materials to high quality end products.


We are looking for an Academy assistant to join the team. Based out of the centre of excellence where customers come to be inspire & educated on product use.


Join a small, hard working team to support the creation of ingredient solutions for a variety of clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in the day to day running of the academy throughout courses, customer visits, virtual events and filming and supporting the requests of the our sales teams
  • Help the team set up the academy in readiness for customers
  • Support the team throughout customer days and courses to provide a high level of customer service
  • Assist the team with the creation of products to support application testing and customer briefs and projects
  • Assist the team with preparation of ingredients and equipment for courses, customer days, offsite visits and filming.
  • Help the team to keep the academy clean and tidy at all times and equipment in proper working order
  • Help the team to welcome and host visitors and customers, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times
  • Preparation of light lunches for customers
  • Stock checking and ordering


What are we looking for?

  • A passion for chocolate, pastry and bakery applications
  • Level 2 food hygiene certificate
  • NVQ level 3 professional cookery or patisserie - or equivalent
  • Fluent English speaking and writing
  • Great customer service
  • Good time management
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated
  • A willingness to help others and a flexibility to undertake many different tasks in the course of a day
  • Flexible attitude to changes of bookings, customer visits and calendar bookings
  • A passion for chocolate, pastry and bakery applications
  • Level 2 food hygiene certificate
  • NVQ level 3 professional cookery or patisserie - or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable working on your feet for the majority of your day as well as manual handling of boxes and equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel etc - or equivalent
