Exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team!

We are currently looking for an Account Payable Assistant who share our Ambitious, Accountable, and Inclusive value, committed to communities and doing the right thing to make a positive difference.

This role will be an integral part  of the Finance Team , reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. You will be confident with building and maintaining relationships with Stakeholders, as well as managing a diverse workload. You will seek to add value and purpose to an array of activities and play a key role in the Team.

Working with the Accounts Payable Supervisor  the main responsibilities would lie with Accounts Payable however you may also support other finance operations activities when required. You will provide support to the Finance Operations team to allow the team to deliver key strategic projects.

The candidate should have proven accounts payable experience  and have worked on purchase ordering systems . The role can be fast paced, changeable and high pressured with a requirement to deliver against tight deadlines, therefore meticulous attention to detail is a must.

The Account Payable Assistant will:

  • Maintain the Purchase ledger accurately.
  • Assist with all Accounts Payable activities and processes.
  • Prepare and process Supplier payment runs via BACS.
  • Match invoices to POs and review and chase GRNS
  • Process all approved supplier invoices, credit notes and expense claims.
  • Research and resolve internal and external queries.
  • Ensure Non-PO invoices are authorised and processed with correct evidence
  • Prepare and process month end in line with the month end timetable.
  • Review  and chase outstanding Invoices, purchase orders, aged creditor, and disputed items.
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Any other ad hoc duties.

  • £26,748 annual base salary
  • Permanent Contract
