This role requires an Accounts Payable Manager who can handle a team and ensure smooth functioning of the accounting and finance department in a public sector and government entity.

Description

The key responsibilities of a Accounts Payable Manager will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and accountants.

Profile

A successful Accounts Payable Manager should have:

  • Public Sector and Government background.
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Ability to commute to Manchester.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent laws, codes and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication skills.
