Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Lifetime Mortgage (LTM) team and support with the Capital Management of our Lifetime Mortgage portfolio.

In this role you will work closely and collaboratively with various teams from across the Group to ensure the successful valuation and risk management of the LTM business of L&G.

You will also work closely with the actuaries within the LTM team to support ad-hoc analysis and various projects in relation to the development of our LTM business. This will include launching new products as well as improving our existing offerings to meet profitability and capital targets.

As well as the above, you will also take ownership for the production of essential and regular MI, as well as quarterly reporting pertaining to the risk and financial management of the LTM business.

This role would be ideal for a Student Actuary who has made some progress through the initial IFoA Exams and also has a couple of years of Industry Experience to draw upon.



This is a hybrid working opportunity based from our Coleman Street Offices in London, which will allow you to work from both your home and the office so you can find a work/life balance that suits you.

Qualifications

  • Student Actuary who has madeprogress through the initial IFoA Exams.
  • Previous experience within an Actuarial Role (with Life Insurance experience being highly preferable).
  • Good knowledge of Solvency II Regulatory Requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office - including basic VBA skills (with Python and/or R knowledge being highly preferable, but not essential).
  • Strong personal planning and organisation skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and explain complex details in simpler terms.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to take the initiative and find a solution with minimal guidance/steer.
  • The ability to question results for reasonableness and to refer to more experienced staff where appropriate.
