Air Traffic Control Officer

Copello have partnered with an established defence business in the recruitment of an Air Traffic Control Officer to be based in North Lancashire.

Working in a highly dynamic and challenging role, the Air Traffic Control Officer will be responsible for handling both civilian and military aircraft movements safely and efficiently and in accordance with the Manual of Air Traffic Services.

The duties will include:

* Provision of an Aerodrome Control service

* Delivery of an Approach Radar service (UK FIS in Class G) and Lower Airspace Radar Service

* Providing a Special Tasks (Test) Service

* Submitting Met Observations in a timely fashion

* Assisting in the administrative processes of the unit as directed by the Manager of ATS and supporting the change management process and review of procedures

* Maintaining a thorough understanding of the applicable regulations and processes

* Interfacing with the wider Aerodrome team on operational and administrative matters, including aerodrome safeguarding and management of works in progress

Applicants will ideally hold a current UK/CAA licence (including a valid Class 3 medical certificate) including Aerodrome and Approach Surveillance ratings, with a minimum of 2 years previously validated and previous experience of providing a Military Area Radar service. Ideally the candidate will also hold OJTI/Assessor ratings and an Aeronautical Meteorological Observing Certificate.
