Full Job Description

Our client is currently seeking an adept purchasing professional to become part of their dynamic team as an Expeditor. Reporting to the Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager, this newly established position is to accommodate ongoing business expansion and to provide support for EMEA operations.

Role : Aircraft Component Material Expeditor (Purchasing)
Location : Near Reading
Status : Full-time/Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with EMEA and other European entities to ensure a consistent supply of goods to the manufacturing facility, encompassing the procurement of goods, materials, and services to meet customer demands.
  • Direct communication with suppliers, distributors, and agents to guarantee timely delivery of parts to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) for turnaround times (TAT) in the main repair workshop.
  • Emphasize cost reduction and negotiate optimal deals while enhancing quality and supply.
  • Manage material ordering and arrange prompt delivery according to supply chain requirements.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to the company's best practices, ethics, principles, and processes.
  • Expedite materials to meet agreed turnaround times across the EMEA region.
  • Evaluate work in progress, material availability, and potential production issues.
  • Maintain consistent feedback to key stakeholders and re-commit any actual or forecasted arrears and orders.
  • Generate ideas and strategies to enhance operational efficiencies, add value, improve business performance, and contribute to the strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Aid in the search for and selection of potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage critical lists across EMEA.
  • Facilitate communication between vendors and internal teams, including other companies within our group.
  • Timely redistribution of aging stock among other SK entities.
  • Establish supplier scorecards and present monthly results to management.
  • Identify excess inventory for potential resale packages.


Requirements/Education

  • Minimum education level of A-level required; CIPS certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in managing and monitoring forecasts.
  • Previous experience in aviation is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Quantum Component Control is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office software, particularly complex Excel spreadsheets.
  • Well-versed in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills across various organisational levels.
  • Analytical, organised, and numerically astute, with a proven track record in problem-solving.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
