Airworthiness Engineer (Initial Airworthiness - Design)

Are you an Aircraft Avionic engineering professional with experience of design configuration control, Design certification (qualification and safety) and airworthiness! Are you seeking a new role that would give you the opportunity to work on both current and future aircraft development activities assuring the type airworthiness of the product and its release into service across all Customers? My client, a leading multinational defence company, are currently seeking a "Senior Initial Airworthiness Engineer "to join the business in a permanent capacity. The role can be based out of my clients secure sites in either Prestwick, Scotland or Warton, Lancashire - with the requirement to attend your chosen base site approx. 2-3 days a week.

Due to the nature of my clients work, candidates must either hold a live SC Clearance or be willing and able to undergo the clearance process.

What you’ll be doing:

• airworthiness assurance activity of design certification (qualification and safety) evidence in support of airworthiness certification for Development, Production and Export clearance programmes
• focal point for agreeing flight limitations with System Design Responsibility teams, Flight Operations and the external customers
• and producing Flight Certification (Military Permit to Fly) for Development and Production Aircraft
• and producing Flight Certification (Release to Service) for Export Customers
• airworthiness assurance activity for emergent flight safety issues affecting Development aircraft, resulting in the issue of Flight Safety Procedures (Additional Flight Limitations/Flight Safety Messages) to BAES Partner Companies and their operators
• continuous development of BAE Systems and flight certification and design certification processes
• and representing Airworthiness at Typhoon/Tornado/Hawk/FCAS project meetings, including support to external customer meetings
• with Customers (internal and external) to agree delivery timescales
• of tasking to suitably qualified and experienced individuals within the team and may have people responsibilities (PDR, career development plans, aspirations etc)
• with the Executive population (local department and Product Integrity discipline) to ensure availability of suitably qualified and experienced individuals within the team

Your skills and experiences:

• Avionic and Mechanical systems design and Aerodynamic disciplines knowledge
• experience within design configuration control processes
• certification (qualification and safety) and airworthiness processes
• within aircraft operations in a large organisation
• methods to support establishing integrated aircraft level flight limitations
