Ambulatory Equine Vet

We are working with an independent, award winning, mixed veterinary practice based in East Midlands and are looking to recruit another member to the ambulatory team.

Some experience would be preferred, but an enthusiastic new graduate with a good work ethic and happy demeanour would be considered.  The role will consist of mainly equine visits (80%) alongside some farm visits (20%). They have a diverse client base, predominately leisure horse owners with some competition horses and a reasonable amount of stud work. The farm work involves a few beef and dairy farms, some sheep work in spring plus a few small holdings. The role does not include any TB testing. A fully kitted out practice vehicle will be provided.

The normal working week is 4.5 day week, plus a day off in lieu for working the weekend on call.  The out of hours rota is 1 in 5 which is shared equally, our OOH is generally quiet.

We offer 25 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays and a generous CPD allowance.  The practice will cover your RCVS registration fee and provide full VDS professional indemity insurance.

The team is happy and motivated with good practical and moral support provided by the partners, as well as a dedicated equine technician and a supportive admin team.

The practice is well equipped with all the usual kit and has a long reputation for providing excellent first opinion veterinary care with excellent back up from referral hospitals in the area.
