Inclusive Alternative Provision in the Borough of Slough is recruiting for a qualified Teacher of Art/ Art Teacher (MPS or UPS). Permanent position to start in September 2024.
Alternative Provision is open for students diagnosed with Behavioural Complexities and have EHCPs. Exemplary SLT with a Principal who is a true leader and visionary. Ofsted rated “Good” and children and young people feel safe and feel supported. Class sizes are small (up to 7 per class) which is supported by the SEN Teacher and several behavioural support staff.
New position for an experienced MPS or UPS Qualified Art Teacher / Teacher of Art (ie PGCE/ SCITT/ Teach First/GTP/ Cert Ed / QTLS or QTS). The successful Teacher of Art/ Art Teacher will have taught in either an Alternative Provision / PRU/ SEMH School or mainstream Secondary School as a Teacher of Art. You will be teaching fun, creative and therapeutic Art lessons to your students. You are passionate about supporting children with behavioural SEN; ie ASC/ ODD/PDA/SEMH/ ADHD/CAMHS/ Behaviour Difficulties & can successfully build a strong rapport with them. - You have a recognised teaching qualification (ie PGCE/ Teach First/ GTP/ Cert Ed / QTS/ QTLS)
- Only suited to experienced and qualified Art Teachers (MPS or UPS)
- Teaching and Learning; able to plan, mart and deliver fun and engaging lessons to your students.
- You have excellent Art Teaching experience in either; PRU / Alternative Provision / Mainstream Secondary School or SEMH School
- Can successfully teach Art at both KS3 & KS4
- Experience teaching children diagnosed with SEN; ie SEMH/ ASC/ ADHD/ PDA/ ODD/ ASD /Behaviour Difficulties
- Able to demonstrate a minimum of a “Good” lesson
- Can successfully de-escalate behaviour effectively
- You reside in easy commutable distance to Slough.
