Asbestos Auditing and Trainee Manager

£35,000 - £40,000

The job holder's main responsibility will be to oversee the trainee program, to ensure the production of quality surveyors and analysts. Their contributions will be important in enhancing the operational and commercial side of the asbestos team

- Additionally, an Asbestos Auditing and Trainee Manager will ensure that all client projects adhere to contractual obligations and meet high quality standards.

This role will involve both managerial and hands-on elements, with give or take half of the available time dedicated to conducting asbestos surveys and related on-site tasks, contributing directly to revenue generation within the asbestos team.

You are required to have the P402, P403 and P404 qualifications for this job opportunity

Duties as an Asbestos Auditing and Trainee Manager…

You will be responsible for training initiatives, ensuring new hires, and existing staff receive necessary skills and certifications. This involves overseeing induction sessions for trainees and new asbestos staff alongside other leaders. Your role includes conducting training sessions to maintain and enhance staff competencies.

For trainees, you will ensure they meet qualification targets and are prepared to undertake asbestos surveys and related projects meeting quality standards and productivity goals.

You'll also manage audits to maintain quality control, implementing UKAS requirements and fostering a compliance culture. Line management duties may involve overseeing trainees in the field, ensuring high standards in recruitment, induction, and training.

Your operational focus will involve conducting asbestos surveys and related projects to meet business objectives and contractual obligations while contributing to financial targets. Customer relationship management is key, requiring you to nurture client relationships, offer advice on asbestos management, and support new contract mobilisations.

Recruitment efforts will involve assisting in hiring both qualified staff and trainees. Health and safety protocols must be embedded within trainees, and you will provide IT support and ensure access to necessary tools.

Utilizing management information, you will intervene as needed to maintain quality and productivity levels. Occasionally, you may support the Technical Manager on complex projects. There is also an opportunity to develop as a UKATA approved trainer to aid the Quality & Lab Manager.
