Full Job Description

Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst.
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
Salary / Benefits 24k - 30k + Training + Benefits

Our client is a long-standing UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy who have a leading presence in the South East. Due to continued growth and development, they are now seeking to recruit an Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their friendly laboratory. You will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of carrying out sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy, alongside calibrating equipment and following safe working practices in the laboratory. Our client can offer an excellent basis salary, excellent overtime opportunities and rates, company bonus scheme, and generous holiday allowance. Our client will also consider candidates looking for a part time position.
Consideration will be given to candidates from: Canvey Island, Stanford-le-Hope, Grays, Tilbury, South Benfleet, Rochford, Basildon, Rayleigh, Wickford, Hockley, Romford, Rainham.

Experience & Qualifications:
" Holding the BOHS P401 is essential to the role.
" Will have a keen eye for detail.
" Able to communicate with clients and colleagues efficiently via phone, email, face to face.
" Able to work to deadlines and prioritise work efficiently.
" Excellent IT skills.
The Role:
" Logging samples onto internal systems upon arrival to the lab, ensuring to store and label safely and correctly.
" Preparing samples for analysis.
" Using PLM and stereo microscopy to carry out sample analysis.
" Ensuring to complete job sheets upon completion of analysis and returning to clients in line with agreed timeframe.
" Ensuring to update internal systems accurately.
" Calibrating and cleaning laboratory equipment.
" Maintaining the companies UKAS accreditation.
" Working in line with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.
