Job Title: Assistant Buyer

Location: Redditch, United Kingdom

Salary: 25,000 - 35,000 per annum, depending on experience

About Us:We are a leading construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects across the UK. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated Assistant Buyer to join our team and contribute to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the procurement of materials for groundworks and civil engineering sites, including concrete, aggregates, pipes, drainage, and all other materials required on-site.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to understand project requirements and ensure materials are ordered accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and inventory levels to ensure efficient supply chain management.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, assistant, or coordinator role, ideally within the construction industry or with exposure to construction materials.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
