Urgent requirement for an Assistant Financial Controller to be based in London on a 6-12 month contract for a major Insurance Client.

Assistant Financial Controller to help lead our Group Finance Function, you will be responsible for coordinating the global group financial close process, producing critical management information, and providing support to teams across the business on various ad hoc projects. Someone who can ensure that the Group Finance team processes and controls meet Sarbanes Oxley standards. You will also act as a key liaison with external auditors and regulatory authorities as needed, making sure we are always in line with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing audit requirements and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations
  • Delivering financial management reporting that meets SEC compliance standards
  • Demonstrating proficiency in finance systems and chart of account design
  • Possessing technical knowledge of insurance accounting and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the general insurance industry, particularly in Insurance and Reinsurance segments
  • Previous Group Finance experience
  • Must have a professional accounting qualification such as ICAEW, ICAS, or ACA and have 7-10 years of post-qualified experience
  • Have prior experience working in a top-tier audit firm (Big 4)
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing newly established teams
