Full Job Description

You will join the Corporate Affairs Legal team and oversee and deliver regulatory and corporate advice to JPMorgan’s businesses within EMEA. The Corporate Affairs team partners with line of business lawyers and country counsel, control groups, senior management and corporate functions to provide corporate and regulatory advice and support.   

In order that the team can continue to provide effective regulatory and corporate advice to its stakeholders in EMEA, the team is seeking to recruit a Vice President to be based in London.

If you are a professional, commercially astute and dynamic lawyer with experience of operating within a high-performing legal department, with the ability to rapidly become a trusted adviser to key stakeholders, then this role is for you.

Job responsibilities

  •  Deliver practical and technically excellent regulatory legal advice to stakeholders within EMEA
  • Act as a lead strategic partner to regulatory reform programs and firm-wide business and strategic initiatives  within EMEA, with particular focus on providing concise and practical advice on EU and UK regulatory and corporate law and guidance
  • Act as a key partner to standing regulatory oversight and governance committees, advising on regulatory developments and practical implementation solutions to new financial law and regulation
  • Work closely with partners within the Legal Department, delivering and sharing financial regulatory and corporate advice to lines of business and corporate functions
  • Lead and deliver against ad hoc projects and/or corporate transactions that may arise, working with multiple stakeholders.  This will include managing external counsel in multiple jurisdictions and developing effective working relationships with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Strong degree-level academic background
  • Qualified Legal Practitioner or Company Secretary, Corporate Governance Professional with at least six years of relevant experience.
  • Track record of leadership on financial services legal advisory matters within a high-profile environment, including extensive interaction with senior management, businesses, control and support functions
  • Self-motivated and goal orientated with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
