About the Job

Without our Merchandisers, there would be no product in our stores and on our website! The Gap Merchandising team ensures that we have the right products, in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantities. This role is responsible for maximising the profitability of each line working closely with the US teams and suppliers to plan and build our fabulous product ranges.

 

Within this role you will…

  • Manage your own small brand/division within Gap. Responsible for the end to end planning, budgeting and trading of your own area.
  • Produce weekly and monthly trade analysis reports and present trade updates to Directors and stakeholders.
  • Update and maintain department MSSIs & WSSIs. Identifying any sales and stock risks or opportunities
  • Develop a strong understanding of product performance across the various channels and recommending any actions
  • Liaise with the Marketing team to improve and maximise brand awareness for your areas.
  • Help drive our website through site optimisation. Guide and support the MAA’s in weekly trading actions. Be commercial and bring ideas to the table on what product areas to push.
  • Support the growth of our expanding store base through analysis and supporting the merchandiser in planning allocation volume.
  • Reviewing sizing analysis every quarter. Maximise profit by ensuring size ratios and returns rates are reflective of the customer needs.
  • Build relationships with franchise and supply chain partners, to ensure intake targets are achieved and launch products are delivered on time.
  • Contribute to department strategy, producing seasonal analysis to understand lessons learnt and identify opportunities to maximise sales and profit.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior team members, setting measurable objectives and developing a flexible management style as appropriate to their needs.

  • An inspirational manager with the ability to develop your Merchandise Assistant.
  • Extensive experience within the fashion and apparel area.
  • Experience operating at an Assistant Merchandiser level.
