The GitLab Overview Backend Engineers
within the Engineering Departments at GitLab work on our
product. This includes both the open-source version of GitLab, the
enterprise editions, and the GitLab.com service as well. They work
with peers on teams dedicated to areas of the product and collaborate
with engineering managers, product managers, designers, and Frontend
engineers to solve common goals as part of a group. The Associate Backend Engineer will join a team and focus on a
single programming language specialty. The most common specialty at
GitLab is Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework.

What You’ll Bring About The Teams Associate
Engineers may be offered a position in a team within GitLab that is
hiring and where the candidate has relevant domain, technical,
toolset, and/or practical working experience. The Govern sub-department is currently looking for
candidates for teams that build and maintain Security and Compliance
features in GitLab including The Create Stage sub-department
focuses on multiple categories : Editor
Extensions, Code Suggestions, the Web IDE, Remote Development, and
more. We are hiring for two teams within Create: Please note that
we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience;
many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement.
