The Role

Exscientia is looking for an Associate Director, Finance Systems to manage the delivery and integration of our finance systems to support our growing reporting, operational and functional needs.

This role can be based either in Oxford (UK), Miami (US) or Boston (US).


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop an outcome-focused technology and application finance systems roadmap which describes the short to long-term plans, requirements of the technology and products and their benefits to Exscientia
  • Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of our financial systems ensuring that business requirements are met
  • Identify, recommend and drive system enhancements and integrations to streamline processes and improve efficiencies & data integrity
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of finance systems including, with the wider team, managing user access and security profiles
  • Maintain system refinements, including managing master data structure and process to enable data quality and integration across systems, as necessary driven by changes in the business
  • Work cross functionally with teams such as People & Digital Services to ensure finance data and integrations are aligned
  • Ensure financial systems and processes comply with industry regulations and standards including US Sarbanes Oxley legislation. Provide support and input to audit activities and initiatives as required e.g. service improvement audits, annual financial audits, SOX compliance audits, etc.
  • Provide training and support to users of our finance systems
  • Support successful rollout and configuration of finance systems functionality, including data migration and go live support
  • Develop strong relationships with internal & external subject matter experts for training, to stay current with updates and to maximise effectiveness of issue troubleshooting & resolution.


Essential Behaviours and interpersonal Requirements:

  • Capable of driving positive changes (improving efficiencies, behaviours and attitudes) in and outside of your direct team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, organisational and written communication skills: you will need to be able to communicate effectively with both internal team members and management and also in cross-disciplinary project teams.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and to nurture a team working environment.


Requirements

Essential skills:

  • Previous experience leading multiple enterprise level ERP implementations and system integrations
  • Previous experience as a Finance systems leader responsible for both day to day and strategic direction of Finance systems
  • Proficiency in interviewing stakeholders, collecting and interpreting requirements
  • Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Background in life sciences
  • Prior experience with Netsuite, Coupa and/or FP&A tools including Anaplan.
