JOB TITLE: Audit Analyst – Economic Crime Prevention

LOCATION(S): Bristol, Edinburgh (will consider applications from other locations)

SALARY: £45,954 - £56,166

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a diverse and committed audit team as an Audit Analyst focusing on Economic Crime Prevention across the Lloyds Banking Group's global businesses. As an Audit Analyst, you will join a team of experienced auditors based in the UK where you will help in the execution of successful value adding audit engagements in the important space of anti-money laundering, sanctions, bribery/corruption and tax evasion risk and fraud. You will assist the lead Auditor in developing the scope of audits and devise and execute appropriate testing during these engagements. Additionally, you will actively engage with members of the first and second lines either through audit work or Business Monitoring activities.

The role also involves owning and closing Audit issues, the application of data analytics and a mind-set to learn new business areas and to develop your skillset in economic crime. You will work closely with a team of experienced Auditors gaining a broad exposure to all the areas of economic crime.

Day to day responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Audit Execution: Support the audit managers by carrying out control testing and identifying areas of concern.
  • Audit Report: Document audit testing and any associated observations and findings.
  • Issue follow-up: Support the follow-up and subsequent remediation of audit issues identified.
  • Business Monitoring: Support audit managers in risk assessing business processes and activities, escalating any concerns through leadership team.
  • Sharing of Insights: Collaborate and where appropriate provide SME insight for other teams within Group Audit including bringing the outside in.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in economic crime working in Internal or External Audit or within a Risk Function.  
  • An understanding of risks and controls and an understanding of anti-money laundering, sanctions, bribery and corruption, tax evasion and/ or fraud risk and the regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of how to use or apply data analytics tools to drive impactful audit outcomes and continuous risk monitoring.
  • A basic understanding of the regulatory environment in the UK.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and can effectively demonstrate negotiation and influencing techniques when required.  
  • Adopt a collaborative, proactive and motivated approach, along with an ability to deliver with others.  
  • Take full ownership and accountability for tasks assigned to them.
  • Good decision making skills and the ability to make sound judgements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and adherence to methodology requirements.
  • The ability to multi-task and manage workloads and tight deadlines.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • ACAMS or ICA Financial Crime qualification or equivalent
  • Practical experience of managing or auditing AML risk in financial services
  • Practical experience of managing or auditing Economic Sanctions in financial services
  • Internal audit knowledge and experience
