WHAT TO EXPECT
The Stamping Group at JLR are looking for a Lead Forward
Programmes Planner to join the Forward Planning & Engineering
Function, where you’ll be responsible for forming processes, tooling
programmes and new facilities for all JLR vehicles. Including managing
the development, manufacture and successful launch of tooling and
equipment into nominated press facilities in a timely manner as well
as providing the foundation for JLR’s drive towards Best-in-Class BIW
Quality and Production Performance and Costs.
This is a
cross functional role that will liaise not only within the Stamping
Group organisation, but also the other functions within the body
enterprise.
Within this role you will be responsible for leading
and delivering the Stamping Group programme management
responsibilities for our future JLR vehicle programmes. You will
interface closely with the departments and functions that provide key
inputs to our process such as departments within the wider Stamping
Group, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Strategy & Procurement.
You will also be instrumental in supporting the continual growth
and development of the department. Using competitor benchmarking,
innovation & technology, you will lead programmes that will deliver
the required business solutions & ensure Forward Programme Planning
drive results that deliver on Stamping Group commitments & KPIs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Acting as first
point of contact for all new programme enquiries, providing initial
response on behalf of Stamping Group.
• Delivering agreement
of SGME strategy for new/modified ‘major stampings’ content whether
ultimately pressed in-house or at vendors.
• Provide feedback
to Engineering that aids manufacturability of the product, lead and
document within AIM’S/JIRA systems.
• Planning delivery timing
requirements and ensuring SGME timing entitlement is embedded and
protected within new programme timing proposals.
• Identifying
suitable Target Agreement metrics and seeking concurrence.
•
Providing cost estimates to programme – material, process and
investment. Maintaining a historical Programme cost database to
support this activity.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• In depth understanding of manufacturing processes
specifically relating to metal forming.
• A working knowledge
of press tool designs and press shop facilities e.g., presses,
destackers, reoilers, automation, etc.
• An understanding of
pressed part feasibility, and the process standards to improve.
•
An appreciation of press shop specific OEE metrics.
