Position: Baker

Job Summary:
Our client Mrs Sourdough Bakery is seeking a dedicated and skilled Baker to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the art and science of bread baking, particularly sourdough baking, a passion for working with organic ingredients, and a commitment to producing high-quality, flavorful bread. As their Baker, you will play a key role in upholding their bakery's reputation for exceptional organic bread products.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of organic sourdough/bread products, including loaves, rolls, and specialty bread items, following established recipes and techniques.
  • Maintain and monitor the sourdough starter, ensuring its quality and consistency for use in daily baking operations.
  • Implement proper fermentation and proofing techniques to achieve the desired texture, flavor, and crust in our organic sourdough products.
  • Monitor and maintain the baking equipment and ovens, adhering to safety and maintenance guidelines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and refine organic sourdough bread recipes that align with our bakery's commitment to quality and sustainability.
  • Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in the baking area, adhering to food safety regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Baker or Sourdough Baker, preferably with expertise in organic sourdough bread production.
  • Thorough knowledge of organic baking ingredients, fermentation processes, and artisanal baking methods.
  • A strong understanding of the principles of organic baking, including sourcing organic grains and maintaining organic certifications.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently excellent organic sourdough bread products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
