Job Description: Great minds. Nothing alike. Get to know us, our clients and start learning more about yourself. As an associate in our Bankruptcy department you’ll work as part of a diverse team. The team specialise in bankruptcy appointments that have come about as a result of a variety of circumstances including fraud and financial crime. Although every case is different, the aim in every Bankruptcy is the same, returning value to creditors through asset recovery, pursuing compensation and, in many cases, entering into litigation. There’ll be challenges along the way, but you’ll be supported and able to meet each one with a solution. A look into your future Our five-year apprenticeship programme is designed to take you on a journey to professionally qualified. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll experience during your first five years:• Hands on experience in the different aspects of Bankruptcy, with a variety of cases • Responsibility from early in your career, taking ownership for interesting and challenging case work• You'll spend time undertaking investigations around the cases you're supporting and communicating this with key stakeholders including accountants, solicitors etc• You'll also compile reports, undertake analysis of documentation received, prepare strategy notes and risk documentation as well as process payments/billing• You will be responsible for ensuring that your cases are compliant• Broadly the practice is split into the following areas: Bankruptcies, Corporate Simplification Group, Insolvency and Offshore Financial Centres• On the job learning, alongside a structured training programmeIn your first two years you will work towards completing the CFAB qualification, moving on to becoming ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualified over the next three years.Knowing that you’re right for us We’ve got a flexible approach to academic entry requirements, and we’ll consider these alongside your strengths and motivations. How we work  We work in a hybrid way here at Grant Thornton, with colleagues working between our offices, client sites and at their homes. As a trainee, the expectation is that you will spend up to 4 days either working from an office, client site or college to help with your learning, building relationships and connections with your peers.       Study  You’ll need to be focused, committed, and organised as a trainee, to balance your study and work requirements. You will be provided with study leave to help you complete your professional qualification but you will also find you need to study in your spare time outside of your working hours.
