Appointment Basis:   Permanent.  Monday – Friday flexible working hours, 37 hours per week

Salary:   Circa £55,000 depending upon experience, along with an attractive benefits package

Your future role

 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, supporting

 

You’ll specifically take care of brake systems to support ongoing reliability work and future modifications. And where workload for brakes isn't full-time, you’ll support the team on other projects, which will provide an excellent opportunity for development.

 

Work will range from small technical queries relating to parts overhaul up to full ownership of a work package on a major fleet modernisation such as the recent class 390 Modernisation the UK’s largest ever fleet modernisation project.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Taking ownership of work packages and to deliver a technical solution with all supporting documentation
  • Primary outputs are modification instructions, overhaul instructions, Customer reports, Bills of Material, Risk Assessments, Standards checks

The role would suit a mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer. You’ll have suitable rolling stock and brakes experience with experience of writing requirement specifications, risk assessments and defining and writing overhaul instructions.

 

The role involves communication with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers so good communication skills are critical. You’ll be expected to take ownership of work packages and ensure that all parties come together for the successful conclusion of work to time and budget expectations.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent
  • Relevant Rolling Stock experience and Brakes Experience
  • Experience of writing requirement specifications etc, risk assessments and defining and writing overhaul instructions
  • Good written and spoken English and Communication skills
