Business Analyst (Cyber Security experience)

  • General Cyber Security experience
  • Risk and Cyber Security framework / assessment experience (e.g. "NIST 800-53" is highly desirable)
  • Business Change and Business Transformation experience

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a mid level Business Analyst with (Cyber Security experience) who can assess and analyse organisation's compliance against standards like Cyber Essentials Plus and NIST. 

The Role

The ideal Business Analyst will have Business Change Analysis experience and your primary responsibility will be to understand organisation business change and transformation needs, assess the impact of those changes and document changes as requirements.  

Key Skills & Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience working in a Business Analysis focused role
  • General Cyber Security experience
  • Risk and Cyber Security framework / assessment experience (e.g. "NIST 800-53" is highly desirable)
  • Experience of leading the business analysis effort on larger projects / programmes of work
  • Solid background of analysis across a variety of business and technology projects, incorporating different processes, applications, data usage, system integrations, and infrastructure
  • Experience across all stages of a project, from pre-initiation / discovery, through to implementation
  • Experienced working on end-to-end AS-IS business and system process analysis and the corresponding defining of future state, TO-BE system solutions / process flows
  • Experienced in reviewing and examining business activities and systems interactions, in order to model associated data flows and processing requirements
  • Experienced in leading requirement definition and prioritisation workshops
  • Experienced in working with business and technical stakeholders to understand and define requirements, at a user story, functional design and non-functional specification level
  • Experienced in working with project stakeholders including product owners, developers, testers and project managers to deliver appropriate requirements and solutions
  • Experienced in assessing, planning and managing the business change/impact of a project, working with impacted teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Competent ability to deliver under pressure and respond to a changing environment
  • A team player, able to quickly develop strong working relationships with all levels of stakeholders
  • A self-starter, able to work independently with limited direction whilst adding value from the off
  • Strong people and communication skills both verbally and written, with the ability to communicate at various levels of detail to both business and technology stakeholders

Desirable Skills

  • Cyber security experience ("NIST 800-53" would be highly desirable)
  • Experienced working in a consultancy environment
  • Experience working in defence, legal/law, public sector or government environment
  • Experience of working on pure technology/infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of UI/UX concepts, wire framing, prototyping and the definition of user/functional requirements is desirable
  • Agile/Scrum experience – in addition to writing user stories & acceptance criteria, experience of Sprint Planning, Backlog refinement etc., is also desirable.
  • Waterfall experience - a working understanding of the key sequential stages from both a Business Analyst and Project Management perspective.
