Purpose of job

To build effective commercial partnerships with Senior level brand partners alongside managing identified Outlet strategic brand partner relationships under the guidance, direction and working in collaboration with the Brand team who maintain, in line with the business strategy the primary relationships.

Working with the Retail Manager(s) at asset level to focus on driving sales and income from strategic brands and ensuring alignment and understanding of future aspirations.

Work collaboratively with the Centre Director and Operational team to ensure the Asset presents ‘Best in Class for both Guests and Brand Partners providing a platform for growth.

The success of this role is contingent on partnership across different functions within Landsec and the building of meaningful brand partner relationships built on a platform of trust and confidence.

Principle Accountabilities

Trading Insight

  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and partner with Senior Retail leaders demonstrating a breath of retail knowledge and experience to deliver effective results.
  • Generate customer centric and meaningful insight, working with our Insight Team to provide value to Landsec supporting future strategic business decisions. – consistent, reliable, and robust.
  • Be an active and trusted advisor to the Brand, Asset and Marketing teams utilizing knowledge and intelligence l to provide valuable insight to inform market decisions.
  • Working closely alongside our Retail Analysts and Insight Team to consistently evaluate our retail reporting processes ensuring relevance and value to support the understanding of performance (risks and opportunities) and future business decision making.
  • Using our Brands Trading performance and working alongside our Finance, Analysts and Marketing to understand the individual lease turnover provision and to drive Landsec’s income using this.

Brand Partner CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

  • Works in collaboration with both Brand and Asset Managers implementing and executing a meaningful and valuable trading outlet partnership primarily but not exclusively with our strategic outlet brands.
  • Industry outlet expert, creating the right level of engagement and dynamic thinking for each Brand Partner to deliver the optimum outlet partnership experience.
  • Collaborate and communicate strategically with key / high priority brands to understand and influence their trading performance locally and ensuring consideration to impact across the retail portfolio.
  • Determine and understand through effective collaboration the ambitions, strategic intent and commercial priorities of our brand partners, understanding what they need to achieve their commercial success and formulate a road map to be able to influence / deliver this.
  • To develop with their peers a working practice which delivers consistency in terms of approach, process and delivery ensuring commonality of “tone of voice”.
  • Collaborate with the Brand and Asset teams ensuring the brand mix in our outlet centres  are relevant to the guest profile and commercial viable.
  • Using data and market knowledge to  provide internal sales projections for target brands to aid financial modelling and lease appraisals.

Guest Experience :

  • Work in collaboration with the Guest Experience and Insight teams, to build deeper Brand Partnerships.
  • Harnessing the power of Brands to mutual benefit and to contribute to the overall strategies relating to guest experience.

Asset Team

  • Support the Asset team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, to support the strategic plan for each asset that balances high quality placemaking with long-term commercial success.
  • Support the execution and implementation of the strategic plan for each asset in line with its placemaking vision.
  • Be proactive in ensuring the plan is delivered in line with the expectations of all stakeholders.
  • To use their commercial knowledge, understanding and relationships with Outlet Brands to support the budgeting process.

  • Demonstrable broad Retail experience gained with multiple brands or across different asset classes.
  • Experience of working at a senior level within a Retail environment
  • Use of customer insight platforms and data sources
  • Demonstrable experience of building effective partnerships
  • Experience of working with commercial retail agents
