CFO: SaaS Communications Platform


Overview


Stannp.com is appointing a new Chief Financial Officer who can help design a financial plan for growth, create shareholder value and expand an international business. Founded 10 years ago as a direct mail digital startup, Stannp.com now has £20m of annual Direct Mail revenues, over 70 employees and offices in the UK and US. The directors are looking for an ambitious, strategic CFO preferably with previous experience of fundraising, the SaaS marketplace and a proven record of delivery. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wants to join Stannp.com on the next stage of its ambitious journey.


The Company


Founded in 2014 Stannp.com have:


  • Bootstrapped their growth to £20m revenue in 2023. Revenue is split 50:50 from North America and the UK, with North America growing quickly.
  • Over 50,000 companies have signed up to use Stannp.com’s solution ranging from enterprise customers to SMBs.
  • Headquarters in Barnstaple North Devon and a sales office in Denver Colorado.
  • Employing over 70 people.


The Platform


Customers are currently utilising the platform on a PAYG basis. With thousands of customers enjoying its service monthly. New “Pro” features are being released in 2024 with an upgraded core platform under a “freemium” model. This will drive ARR and enterprise value.


The Product


Stannp.com have focused on making its platform an easy to manage system for managing direct mail as a communications channel. They have focused on programmatic direct mail where individual mail pieces are triggered from templates integrated into 3rd party CRM systems. New omnichannel communications including SMS, Whatsapp are being rolled out in 2024.


The Role


Working onsite in North Devon; as a member of the Board, reporting into the COO, the CFO will have overall financial accountability for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of Stannp Ltd, and its subsidiary Stannp Inc. in the USA (frequent travel required). As part of the Board the CFO will have a significant voice on broader commercial matters.


Responsibilities


o Overseeing the value creation story:

  • Driving growth and business performance.
  • Monitoring key financial levers, implanting robust KPI’s with a focus or EBITDA.
  • Experience with capital markets and structuring deals to appeal to potential investors.

o Managing the financial performance of the Company:

  • Preparing financial business objectives, responsibility for annual budgeting process.
  • Giving clear overview of business performance to fuel commercial decision making, assessing performance against budget & long-term strategy.
  • Developing and managing robust financial systems & controls.
  • Leading cash and working capital management.
  • Coordinating annual audit process.

o Leading the Finance team:

  • Lead the finance function in the UK and US subsidiary.
  • Communication with Board, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining long term banking relationships.

  • Hands on personal leadership style, hard-working and confident
  • A qualified accountant, with excellent financial acumen and an ability follow and report with GAAP accounting standards.
  • Technically capable, commercially aware and possesses the ability to inspire and influence.
  • Experience with strategic investors, demonstrating a strong focus on value creation.
  • Sector experience in a SaaS business.
  • Flexibility to travel to US subsidiary.
