We are actively looking to bring in a Levy Collections Officer into the team who partner the CITB. The CITB, or Construction Industry Training Board, is the Sector Skills Council and for the construction industry. It works with construction companies to improve skills, increase competitive edge and respond to the many challenges employers face. All construction employers are required to pay a levy which can be used to train, provide apprenticeship and upskill employees within construction.

The team aids construction employers in timely and accurate levy payments, assisting those who have missed or not paid, striving to recover unpaid funds while providing continuous support to the employer.

The role can be based anywhere in UK, however there may be a requirement to visit a local SSCL Office when required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Contacting employers who have not yet paid the CITB levy and chasing for payment.
  • Arranging payment plans and identifying acceptability on payment offers in a timely fashion for employers.
  • Ensuring all employers details such as correspondence address, contact details are correct to allow easy communication.
  • Undertaking fact finding and recovering funds where possible.
  • When not possible instructing the courts and initiating the legal process to recover unpaid funds.
  • Supporting and instruct external agents to trace or serve documents on CITB’s behalf.
  • Instruct Bailiffs as a last resort but where necessary.
  • Identifying whether Scottish judgment debts should be referred to external solicitors for action.
  • Handling incoming correspondence, diaries, reports and other queries, settling priority matters, preparing and sending responses with the relevant forms/documentation.

What you will bring:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Confidence with conflict resolution.
  • Ability to act in a professional manner in all circumstances.

It would be great if you had:

  • Debt recovery experience.
  • CITB Levy knowledge.
